Submitted To God II

‘Since we respected our earthly fathers who disciplined us, shouldn’t we submit even more to the discipline of the Father of our spirits, and live forever?’ Heb.12:9

If you find yourself in that situation where nobody can catch you and you still don’t do wrong because of your love for Jesus then you are really free. For a lot of people, the reason why they are not committing adultery today is because their spouse is on their case and so they do not have the opportunity. When the opportunity is right and nobody can catch them, such people will commit adultery. The bondservant has the opportunity to walk out but the bondservant refuses. Instead he declares that he is enslaved not because of compulsion but willingly.

The enemy uses three main tools to keep us enslaved – fear, ignorance, and sin. The first thing the enemy uses to keep people enslaved is fear. Yet if you are submitted to God, fear will be out of the window very quickly. If you are really submitted to God you will be fearless. Secondly, the enemy uses ignorance to keep people enslaved. The Bible says ‘my people are destroyed because they lack knowledge’. The enemy uses ignorance to keep people enslaved. But if you are submitted to God ‘you will know the truth and the truth will set you free’. The third thing the enemy uses to enslave people enslaved is sin. But again if you are submitted to God sin will have no dominion over you [Read 1John 3:7-10]. The Bible says, when people do what is right it shows they are righteous. The Bible did not say when people do what it right it makes them righteous. Doing what is right doesn’t make you righteous. Doing what is right just shows you are righteous. What you do shows who you are. Jesus puts it this way ‘by their fruits you shall know them’. So trash all the garbage that says once you have received the grace of God you can do anything you want to do. It is a lie. The truth is that what you do tells us who you are. So God is saying if you are submitted to Him it will show. The Bible says, it shows when people do that is right that they are children of God. So for you to be free, submit to God!

Prayer: Father, I submit to your discipline in every area of my life so that I bear good fruit and glorify Your Holy Name, in Jesus Name.
