He Understands!
‘Since he himself has gone through suffering and testing, he is able to help us when we’re being tested’ Heb.2:18.
General statistics state that at least one out of every three women has been raped. In truth, the idea of rape is very sad. It is a horrible experience that no woman wants to go through. As if the experience of being raped is not bad enough some ladies get pregnant as a result. If you are a man reading this today and you have raped someone, you need to cry out to God for mercy because that is a heavy thing to do to the image of God. For ladies, once rape has happened the first thing you should do is go to a gynecologist and get proper care so that pregnancy does not occur. Then report the experience immediately. One of the reasons why rape goes on sometimes is because the law enforcement doesn’t help. People who have reported say they have been treated like it was their fault. Another reason is the absence of family support. Young girls are afraid to open up to their parents because of the fear of being accused. So we have unhealthy family settings that make this thing thrive. Parents, you need to check your homes, your house helps, because a lot of these abuses are happening right under your nose. You need to set things straight.
Having laid those two foundations, if pregnancy occurs after a rape, I say this with a lot of understanding of the heaviness but the truth remains that a life is a life. You will struggle with taking a life. Secondly, you would have deprived the life of whatever God wants to do with it. How can God want to do anything with such a bastard? That is why God is God. I know of someone who pastors a church of twenty something thousand people today and he is the result of a rape. What would have happened if they had flushed him? Yes the pain, agony, and stigma; but we can’t put anything past God. There may be accidental parents but there are no accidental children with God. Everyone that God gives the breath of life, God alone should reserve the right to take that life. It’s a very tough one and you need all the support and encouragement you can get. Please seek counsel immediately. I pray that God will heal you.
Thought: What happened to you is not your fault. If you will hand it over to God, He will give you beauty for ashes.
Prayer : ‘O Lord, if you heal me, I will be truly healed; if you save me I will be truly saved. My praises are for you alone!’ Jer.17:14.
