The Advantage
Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 “Two people are better than one, because they get more done by working together. If one falls down, the other can help him up. But it is bad for the person who is alone and falls, because no one is there to help.”
Your community determines your anointing and influences the heights you can attain. What about the people in community who are not making progress? Well, those are exceptions, but my prayer is that their own lives will also change because of what God is doing with the rest of us in the Name of Jesus. You were not made to do life by yourself. You are made to do life in community. So why do we need community?
We Need Community To Make Up For Our Weaknesses. I have weaknesses and so do you. Therefore, we need community to make up for our weaknesses. Romans 1:12 “I mean that I want us to help each other with the faith we have. Your faith will help me, and my faith will help you.” (NCV). Your faith will help me, and my faith will help you. There are things I am not good at, that the people around me are good at. There are things I am not interested in, but there are people around me who love doing those things. So, I let them do it. I accept that there are things that I am not strong at. But guess what? God has surrounded me with people, gifted people, talented people, and anointed people that will help and makeup for my weaknesses.
We Need Community To Bring Out The Best In Us. Every pro athlete needs a coach. If the pros who are the best in their sports need coaches, then we need coaches. No matter how much of a pro you are, you need a coach. Proverbs 27:17 “As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend”. Friends sharpen and shape each other. We are better together.
We Need Community To Get More Done. If one person can sweep a room in thirty minutes, all things being equal, how long will it take two people to sweep the same room? So, we can get more done in community. Ecclesiastes 4:9 “Two people are better than one, because they get more done by working together” (NCV). When God says two are always better than one, what it means is, that two good heads are better than one, not two rotten heads, or one good and one rotten head. Two good heads are better than one. God says two are always, always, always better than one. If you are good and someone else joins you, the output will always be better. Why? It is because two can accomplish more by working together. None of us is as strong, intelligent, anointed, wise as all of us. Two are always better than one.
Prayer: Father, I ask for the grace to consistently bring value to my community, in Jesus Name. Amen!
