And God said

And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. Gen.1:20

Nothing enduring happens until God speaks. If you check the beginnings of everything worthwhile, you will find out that God has spoken. ‘In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God’ [John 1:1 KJV]. God’s idea of getting to work is not rolling up His sleeves but speaking things into being. The thing that God is about to begin in your life, He is going to speak it into existence today. It is so important that you know what God is saying about your health, academics, marriage, and children. Jesus is the same yesterday and forever and His Word is forever settled. What He said concerning healing, education, fruitfulness and prosperity; He is still saying today – God has not changed His mind. You and I must know what God is saying about our lives in His Word. If you don’t know what God is saying, then you become vulnerable to the enemy’s manipulation. When you try to embellish the Word of God, you expose yourself to trouble [Genesis 3]. You must get beyond just having an idea, to actually knowing what God is saying. If all you have is an idea then when you are under pressure you will make mistakes. This is what differentiated Aaron from Moses. Moses heard God, you will hear God. Age has nothing to do with hearing God, Samuel was really young perhaps 7-10yrs and he heard God clearly. It is important for you to hear God for yourself because when trials come it is what God has said to you that will be the anchor that grounds you in the storm and the wings that carry you above trials. Aaron was not the direct custodian of the Word and so when he was put under pressure, he built a golden calf – a substitute. As a Christian, your success depends on how much of God you hear. What is God saying or what has God said. What God has said, is saying and He will continue to say.

Prayer: Father, I pray that my ears be open in the Spirit. Take away every distraction and cause me to hear You clearly on all that concerns me and my future beginning from today.
