Love, Serve, & Teach

Romans 13:⁸ “Owe nothing to anyone—except for your obligation to love one another. If you love your neighbour, you will fulfil the requirements of God’s law.”

So far we have looked at five of the seven things we need to do to experience metamorphosis in our spiritual health. LOVE JESUS Supremely. MEET WITH HIM Daily. STUDY And DO God’s Word. TITHE Your Income. Learn To LOVE Other Believers. Spiritual growth happens in community. You cannot be a disciple of Jesus by yourself. There has to be someone that will try your patience. Someone that will push your gentleness to its limits. That is when you will know that you are growing. But when you avoid everybody that is trying your patience, how can you grow? You cannot grow. That is why you need to join a small group, join a life group.

I have a small group of people – we talk, look into the Bible, and do life together. Even if your meetings are virtual, you need to join a small group. You have no excuse. Why? And it is because you can worship in a crowd, but you cannot love in a crowd, you can only love in a community. Some people claim to love the whole church. My question is who is the whole church that you are loving? The building? You can only love in a community with real people.

Sixth, I Must SERVE OTHERS Unselfishly. If want to be transformed, If I want to experience metamorphosis, I must serve others unselfishly. These are the little things that you do that bring about the big things that everybody wants. The way to be great is to serve people. You have to give your life away. Mark 10:⁴⁵ “For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (emphasis added). Jesus came to serve and to give. The reason you are not happy is that you are not serving, and you are not giving. You need to serve, and you need to give if you want to live a fulfilled life.

Why is service so important? Service is important because it is a spiritual exercise. It is not only prayer that is a spiritual exercise. Serving is a spiritual exercise. You cannot just be taking and taking, you need to find a way to serve. It is like you are eating and eating, but not burning any calories. You are going to be obese.

Seventh, I Must Pass On THE GOOD NEWS. If we want to be spiritually healthy. If we want to experience metamorphosis in our spirits. We must pass on the Good News. 2 Timothy 2:² “You have heard me teach things that have been confirmed by many reliable witnesses. Now teach these truths to other trustworthy people who will be able to pass them on to others.” (emphasis added).

Prayer: Father, as I love Jesus supremely, meet with Him daily, study and do God’s Word, tithe, love other believers, and serve, cause me to experience a spiritual metamorphosis, in Jesus Name. Amen!
