Currency For Satisfaction

‘This is the generation [description] of those who seek Him [who inquire of and from Him and of necessity require Him], who seek Your Face, [O God of] Jacob’ Ps.24:6 [AMP].

The third way we can become hungry and thirsty for God is by fasting. ‘And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened’ Luke 11:9-10. When you stay in the place of seeking God, suddenly you will realize that all that truly matters is God and nothing else. In Matthew 4, the devil said to Jesus ‘if you are the Son of God turn these stones into bread’. And Jesus quoted Deuteronomy 8:3for it is written man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that comes out from the mouth of the living God’. The Jews had to learn that man should not live by bread alone but by God’s Word through suffering. Jesus learnt the same lesson, as it were, through fasting. There are some things you get to learn and the progress you make through fasting that suffering will become irrelevant to teach you that lesson. He that has an ear let him hear.  You go further faster when you seek the face of God. You are as close to God as you want to be. The Bible says ‘come close to God, and God will come close to youJames 4:8. You draw near unto God and He will draw near unto you. So who determines how close you are to God? You do! So if you see that you are not as close to God as you claim you want to be then you are not doing what you ought to do. The currencies of buying spiritual fulfillment are hunger and thirst. ‘Is any one is thirsty? Come and drink-even if you have no money! Come, take your choice of wine or milk-it’s all free!Isa.55:1. God is saying hunger and thirst are the keys. Are you hungry or are you thirsty today? Jesus is standing before you, right where you are, He is standing in front of you and He is saying as He said before, ‘I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believers in me will never be thirstyJohn 6:35. I am trusting that beginning from today, your life will never remain the same again.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, renew my hunger for You every hour. Let my satisfaction be in You and You alone, in Jesus Name.
