Forgiveness

‘Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you’ Eph.4:32.

Forgiveness is easy when you walk in love. In other words, forgiveness is possible when you allow yourself to grow in God. Jesus demonstrated to us that wholeness is achievable through forgiveness. He forgave the sins of the Paralytic man; He forgave the sins of the woman caught in adultery. Many miracles come after forgiveness happens. This season the miracle you desire so badly may just be hinged on your willingness to forgiven. Interestingly, when it comes to forgiveness, people are quick to think that it applies only to when we are holding a grievance against another person. The truth is that sometimes we are unforgiving towards our own selves. What have you refused to forgive yourself for? ‘He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom and the blood of his Son and forgave our sinsEph.1:7. God wants you to know that He has already forgiven you but you must forgive yourself too and then receive His forgiveness. Until you forgive yourself, you really cannot get past that point. Unless you receive the forgiveness of God you will be stopping healing from occurring in that area of your life. ‘So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ JesusRom.8:1. You need to stop condemning yourself. God has no record of that sin as long as you have asked Him for forgiveness. Self-condemnation is a tool the enemy uses to keep us grounded and in bondage. God does not condemn you so you must stop condemning yourself.  Rather He is holding an open door in front of you today. If you would let Him, He will spread His love abroad your heart. So the next time that thought of condemnation pops up in your mind quiet it with the truth of God’s Word. It is in God’s love that we are able to let go of the past and embrace a future in Christ Jesus. ‘He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west’ Ps.103:12. You have to let it go. While we were yet sinners God loved us enough to take our place on the cross. Confront the hurt and prayerfully forgive yourself and watch God heal you.

Prayer: Lord, please let your forgiveness be real to me that I may easily forgive myself. Heal me of every past hurt, in Jesus Name.
