Assess Access
Hebrews 10:19-20 “And so, dear brothers and sisters, we can boldly enter heaven’s Most Holy Place because of the blood of Jesus. By his death, Jesus opened a new and life-giving way through the curtain into the Most Holy Place.”
The question of worthiness applies to different aspects of our lives that worthiness applies to. But we will stay with the singleness example. She is a beauty queen with the most
amazing bikini body creation has ever seen. Yes, but is she worthy of the destiny you carry? Check for worthiness. A lot of us are familiar with the road worthiness requirement for cars. The fact that the car does vroom, vroom, does not mean it is roadworthy. Some people are animals in human skin. They are not worthy of your life and the sacredness of your scroll. Who is worthy? That is the question that should be at the back of your mind.
Ask the Holy Ghost, is this person worthy? This person ticks all the boxes on your “specification for spouse” list. The question is this one life that you have, are you going to commit it to this person? Is this person worthy? And it can apply to different things. Similar to the deep things of God. There are depths of revelations in God, depths of secrets with God that God only opens to His friends. Are you worthy? Let’s take access to God for example. Access to God is not basic. It can never be basic. Access to God is precious. Access to God and to the throne of God is access to the presence of He who sits on the throne and holds the scroll.
Access to that presence is based on worthiness. But guess what? Jesus has made us worthy. Jesus has made you worthy. So, we have confidence by the Blood of Jesus to come into that place where God is. We have confidence by the New and Living way. We can come into that holy place because of the resurrection of Jesus, because of the sacrifice of Jesus, because of the fact that this same Jesus sits at the right hand of the Father. And Jesus is saying, “That is Femi, let him come in. I died for him. That is my boy.” The accuser of the brethren is like, “No, he is not worthy. He is this and that. He did not even make a first class. He does not even know how to speak English very well. He does not have his tenses correct.”
Jesus says, “Silent! Femi, come.” And that is what Jesus does for you and me. Jesus is my worthiness. Jesus is your worthiness. Therefore, because He is worthy, the Lion of the tribe of Judah is worthy to break the seal and the scroll, you are worthy through Him. This same Jesus has made you worthy. So, you can come, and have access to the secret things of God! Wow!
Prayer (hymn): Thou art worthy, O Lord: to receive glory and honour and power. For Thou hast created all things: and for Thy pleasure they are and were created. Amen!
