Age Factor
Job 32:7-8 “I thought to myself, “Age should speak first; those advanced in years will teach wisdom.” But alas, it turns out it is the spirit in a man, not age, and the breath of the Highest One within him that lends understanding.” (MSG, emphasis added).
Do not let anyone define you by your age. Do not allow anyone block you because of your age. Trust me, age can just be a number. I am not saying age is just a number. I know that you have heard it said that age is just a number, not necessarily but age can just be a number. If you see a Goliath, you are not too young to bring it down. David showed up on the battle scene where everybody was panicking and hiding from Goliath in 1 Samuel 17:32-33 “Don’t worry about this Philistine,” David told Saul. “I’ll go fight him!” “Don’t be ridiculous!” Saul replied. “There’s no way you can fight this Philistine and possibly win! You’re only a boy, and he’s been a man of war since his youth.” David stepped up to the plate and took Goliath down with God’s help.
I pray that you step up to whatever Goliath is confronting your life, family, nation (whatever nation you are in), confront the Goliath and bring it down regardless of your age. Why? It is because you are not too young neither are you too old to fulfil your destiny. Caleb in Joshua 14 at eighty-five years old went to claim the mountain God had promised him. Again, I say do not let anyone define you by your age. Do not allow anyone block you because of your age. Sadly, some people that are elderly have bought the lie that their time has passed, a lot of water have gone under the bridge, just relax, enjoy the rest of your life. Do not bite that bait, that lie.
You are made for more, there is still more in you for God, there is still more in God for you. Neither are you too small to embrace your destiny in God. Paul said to Timothy 1 Timothy 4:12 “Don’t let anyone belittle you because you are young. Instead, show the faithful, young and old, an example of how to live: set the standard for how to talk, act, love, and be faithful and pure.” (The Voice). The Amplified Bible, Classic Edition puts it this way, “Let no one despise or think less of you because of your youth, but be an example (pattern) for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity.” Do not let anyone belittle, despise, or think less of you because of your age. Instead, lead the way, chart the course, be an example to the young and old.
There is a reason the Word of God says, let everything that has breath praise the Lord (Psalm 150:6). If you have breath, you have a purpose. If you have breath, you have a destiny to fulfil. Do not settle for nothing, step up and take down the Goliath. And it is because you can be more regardless of your age. Do I get an Amen? AGE is the first thing that happens to everyone, that if you harness and engage properly, you will end up with more.
Prayer: Father, I thank You because my age will be to my advantage in every area you have called me to function because my story is for Your glory, in Jesus Name. Amen!
