Make Money

‘Work hard and become a leader; be lazy and become a slave’ Prov.12:24.

God doesn’t want us to chase money. Please don’t chase money. God says ‘if you obey Me, these things [money] will purse you and over take you’. Money will be the one chasing you. Over the next few days we will be dealing with the five ways to relate with money. The first way to relate with money is Make Money. God wants us to make money. ‘Go sell the oil’ – go make money. Elisha was saying to the widow, go and make some money, go and sell the oil.

There are two things embedded in that statement, which are crucial to making money. To be wealthy the first thing you need is the blessing. Elisha said ‘go and sell the oil’, in other words I am giving you the blessing. So she had the blessing of the man of God to go and sell the oil. And ‘the blessing of the Lord makes rich and adds no sorrow’. In making money, the first thing you need to secure is the blessing. The second thing you need to secure is ‘sell the oil’ which is work. Many people either don’t want to work or they want the work to be the size of an ant and harvest the size of an elephant. That is the recipe for fraud. Don’t get me wrong, God can bless the works of your hand that little becomes much. But when that little becomes much in your hand and it is a blessing from God, you will discover that it will lead to more work. The little oil became much and it led to more work. Go and sell the oil; she just had basins of oil. Do you know what that means? She needs to get smaller vessels, package the oil, label it, brand it- perhaps, ‘the widow’s miracle oil’, and then come up with a logo for it. That is a lot of work! Then she will need to secure the market for the oil, which involves a market survey, then sort out her supply chain, distribution methods, etc. That is a lot of work! Selling is a lot of work. So go make money. God is saying for that to happen you need to secure the blessing and the work together. ‘The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute’ Prov.12:24 [KJV]. Get these things straight.
