Jeremiah 17:7 “But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence.” (emphasis added).
Jeremiah 17:8 “They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.” In the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, you will not be bothered by heat. You will not be bothered by the economic conditions of your nation or the world. You will not be bothered or worried by long months of drought. There can be long months of adversity on the earth, but you will not be bothered. You will not be touched. Your leaves will stay green, and you will never stop producing fruit. Do you receive it?
In the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, you will be consistently watered. And as you are being watered, your roots will go deep into God’s watering system, straight into nutrition. Even if there is drought on the outside, your roots will consistently get water in the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. The challenge for most of us is we want things our own way. Sometimes, God is trying to redirect you, but you are set in your own ways. Do you agree that God knows more than you? God knows more than you. God wants to redirect you to a watered garden. But you are fixed on a particular mindset.
The story is told of a man whose flight seat was 44G. If you fly and your seat is 44G, you know you are sitting far behind. But when he got to his seat, he saw another man sitting there. “You are sitting on my seat”, he said. “Oh sorry, can you take the other seat? We are a family and I want to sit with my children, not on the other side of the aisle”, the man replied. “No, I want my seat! I chose this seat weeks before this flight. I want my seat back!” he insisted. The other man said, “Look, I have young children and I want to be with them.” But he retorted, “That is none of my business. I want my seat!” A hostess came and said, “Sir, we want to…”. But before the hostess could speak, he said, “Don’t tell me that! I want my seat!”
The hostess kept trying to speak but the man just kept interjecting. Eventually, the hostess said, “Sir, we had noticed this, and we have upgraded you to first class. Can you please come with me?” The man was embarrassed as all eyes were on him. “Do you want the first-class seat, Sir?” Of course, he took the first-class seat. The lesson is, God often has a better seat for us, but we are insisting on 44G. God is saying, think in a different way. You will be like a tree planted by the rivers of water. Planted means rooted, established by the rivers of waters.
Prayer: Father, I choose to let go and let You have Your way in my life, in Jesus Name. Amen!
