Connected?

Colossians 3:¹¹ “In this new life one’s nationality or race or education or social position is unimportant; such things mean nothing. Whether a person has Christ is what matters, and he is equally available to all.” (LB, emphasis added).

The first of four solid sources of confidence in God is, God Offers To Forgive Everything You Have Ever Done Wrong. The second is You Can Trust God To Work Out The Details Of Your Life. Romans 8:²⁸ “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” When you can trust that God is working out every detail of your life, it is a super confidence booster. The third confidence booster is God Will Give You Strength For Whatever You Face. Philippians 4:¹³ “I am ready for anything through the strength of the one who lives within me.” (J.B. Ph). When you know that through Christ God can take care of any situation for you, it is a huge confidence booster.

Do you know why a lot of people are tired all the time? It is because they are running on their own energy. They are self-made. Someone said that, “The problem with a self-made man is he usually worships his maker.” Well if he is self-made, who is his maker? The fourth thing that gives us confidence in God is God Has A Future For You In Heaven. It is such a confidence booster that God has a future for me in heaven and that is what Easter is about. Easter is about the resurrection. God has a future for you in heaven.

1 Peter 1:^3-4 “What a God we have! And how fortunate we are to have him, this Father of our Master Jesus! Because Jesus was raised from the dead, we’ve been given a brand-new life and have everything to live for, including a future in heaven—and the future starts now!” (MSG). I love, love, love this scripture. You have everything to live for because Jesus was raised from the dead. Nothing else in the whole of the universe can give you this kind of confidence that we find in Christ Jesus. It means your is past forgiven, you have a purpose for living, and you have a home in heaven because Jesus is alive! Hallelujah!

The first thing the Fresh Start gives you is CLARITY. The second thing is CONFIDENCE. And the third thing is CONNECTION. You have a new connection to God. Romans 5:¹¹ “So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God.” The most mind-blowing truth of the entire Bible is that the God of the universe, the Maker of the Heavens and the Earth wants to be my friend, wants to be your friend. That is the biggest truth of the Bible. So, the purpose of life is to know and to love God. That is why we are here and that is the purpose for life and eternity—to know and to love God!

Prayer: Father, because of the finished work of Jesus on the cross I have new clarity and confidence, and I rejoice in my new connection to You, in the Name of Jesus. Amen!
