Replace-Ability
Daniel 5:11“There is a man in your kingdom who is full of the divine Holy Spirit. During your father’s time he was well known for his intellectual brilliance and spiritual wisdom. He was so good that your father… made him the head of all the magicians, enchanters…” (MSG)
You are unique by creation, but you are distinct by application. Distinguishing yourself comes from how you apply yourself, grow yourself, and distinguish yourself. However, you are unique already by creation. If you are tall, you are tall by creation. If you are pretty, sometimes it is just by creation. But that does not make you distinct. You are unique by creation, but you are distinct by application. Uniqueness and replaceability are two different things. Replace-ability is from two words: replace and ability. Replace-ability is determined by the abilities, and it is the abilities that determine whether you are dispensable. The Replace-ability is determined by the abilities, not the uniqueness. The abilities—what you have applied yourself to, what you have developed yourself into- that is what determines how difficult it is for you to be replaced.
If your abilities are common, you become easily dispensable, and replaceability comes into play. What we are saying is that even though saying I Am Indispensable is the bait, a lie you should not take. Even though you are not indispensable, you can make it difficult for you to be dispensed of, and you can make it difficult for you to be replaced. Even though you are not Irreplaceable, you can make it such that even when you are missing, you are missed. So that people don’t want to miss you. Distinction makes it difficult for you to become dispensable. I pray that the Spirit of distinction will empower you in the Name of Jesus. Distinction makes it difficult for you to be dispensable.
There are two things that elevate your distinction. The first is Make Your Abilities Uncommon. Daniel 6:1-3 “Darius the Mede decided to divide the kingdom into 120 provinces, and he appointed a high officer to rule over each province. The king also chose Daniel and two others as administrators to supervise the high officers and protect the king’s interests. Daniel soon proved himself more capable than all the other administrators and high officers. Because of Daniel’s great ability, the king made plans to place him over the entire empire.” (emphasis added).
You have to prove yourself. You will exhibit great ability in the Name of Jesus. Daniel made it difficult for him to be replaced. Daniel outlasted four kingdoms; he made himself irreplaceable. The kings will kill themselves, but they will retain Daniel. Why? It is because the cost of replaceability determines how dispensable you are and prohibits losing you or not.
Prayer: Father, because Your Holy Spirit is within me, empower me to prove myself with diligent, excellent work and great skill that distinguishes me, in the Name of Jesus. Amen!
