Stay With God

“O Israel, can I not do to you as this potter has done to his clay? As the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in my hand.’ Jer.18:6.

Today, we will continue in the discourse about the signs of hardness of heart. You know your heart is hard when your praise and worship is no longer by the tenderness of your heart towards God but rather it is about the adoration of men as you pretend to worship God. A typical example would be waiting till midnight when you know the neighborhood is quiet not to be with God but to sing loud enough for everyone to hear you and know that you are spiritual. It is when we would never have watched certain programs on television because they were appalling to us and we could not understand how media houses could air such things. But now those same shows are on every station so we not only watch it but we even advertise it.  When we were growing up certain television stations only came on at 4pm. And if there were any slight romantic scenes in programs aired, they would blur them out so no one can see them. We grew up believing that certain things were private. But now even children’s cartoons have adult content in it. And some parents are indifferent because it is a cartoon or an animation. If you listen to the way some of those animated characters talk, they are very abusive and mature. We need to be conscious and sensitive to the things that harden the heart. God has to purify us by taking out the impurities and then we have to stay soft and stay on the wheel. Do you think that God is worried when we throw tantrums because we feel that God is not performing? Of course not! It is just like how some children can exhaust themselves throwing tantrums. But the parents, like God our loving Father, just stand back and watch the child roll around, kick the floor, hit his head, and cry. But when that same child wants food, love, or kindness he goes to the parents and demands comforting. That is because we all know the source of our provision. So stop throwing tantrums, complaining, threatening God, stop misbehaving to your leaders, your parents, those who are out for your own good, because it is just a waste of time. Since you know your good is coming from God, then go there and stay there.

Prayer: Father, please have mercy on me for throwing tantrums because I know that You are working things out for my good, in Jesus Name.
