Seed and Bread
‘Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise’ Heb.10:23.
Everyone that walks with God must necessarily go through storms. Even David had to speak to himself and query his heart. ‘Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? Hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance’ Ps.42:5 [KJV]. Have you ever come to God and He turned you back because He was too tired? Have you ever placed a demand on heaven and the response came back “out of stock”? David was talking to his soul. You have to talk to yourself. You need to learn how to speak to your heart and your soul. Everybody may turn his or her back on you but you need to remind yourself that all your help comes from the Lord God who made the heavens and the earth. God is your help, God is your strength, and God is in control. And He is not about to fail you.
The second thing we need to reinforce or learn as the case may be is that God has already made provision. God is not just thinking “my son got himself into this problem so what do we do? My daughter needs to be taken care of, where do I get supplies from, angels any ideas?” God knew you were going to be in need and He has gone ahead and made provision for you. ‘I will bring the blind by a way they did not know; I will lead them in paths they have not known. I will make darkness light before them, And crooked places straight. These things I will do for them, And not forsake them’ Isa.42:16 [NKJV]
God knew that man was going to get into trouble and the Bible says concerning Jesus ‘…The Book of Life belongs to the Lamb whose death was planned before the world was created’ Rev.13:8 [NIV]. Before Adam messed up God had said, “man is going to mess up, I have already made provision”. Before your rent is due God has already provided the rent. Many of us think that it is when we finish school then God will now decide what our career path will be. God has already provided. When God gives you an instruction, He has already provided for it. God said to Abraham “Take your son, your only son—yes, Isaac, whom you love so much… Go and sacrifice him as a burnt offering on one of the mountains, which I will show you’ Gen.22:8. Guess what, God had already gone ahead and tied a ram there.
Prayer: The Lord is my Shepherd; I know that I have all that I need. In Your hands Lord is my satisfaction. Thank You Father, in Jesus Name.
