Not As Crabs

‘For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another’ Psalm. 75:6-7

‘So God created human beings in His own image. In the image of God He created them; male and female He created them’ Gen.1:27. You have been created in the image and likeness of God Himself. You need to understand that you are creative but you have to discover your creative juices. Creativity is the ability to make something out of nothing or put together what which already exists in a new way. Everyone is creative; we just find different expressions for it because of our temperaments. Since you are creative and made in the image of God, know that your progress is not tied to another person’s down fall. One of the major problems of man is what is referred to as the crab mentality. People who trade crabs say that you can keep them in a basket without having to cover the basket. Why, because if one of the crabs attempts to climb out of the basket the others will pull it down. God created us to ‘reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground’ Gen.1:26b. Therefore the crab mentality is beneath us. You have in you all that it will take for you to be great, designed and stamped by God. What you need to get to your destiny is in you already waiting for you to discover it and unleash it. A lot of people grew up with the misconception that this is the only way to get ahead. Let God’s Word renew your mind today. The only person that needed to die for you to rise has already laid down His life and that is Jesus. Every demand on you by the crabs in the basket because you are rising, the Blood of Jesus will silence today. You must search your heart with the help of the Spirit to ensure that any variation of this attitude that exists is pulled down. You cannot discredit people in other to obtain self-worth. Cain perhaps thought that the only way to be accepted was to pull Abel down. God’s reaction to that attitude is still His reaction today. When you do what is right you will be promoted.

Prayer: Lord, I ask that You purge my heart of any variation of the crab mentality. I pray that it will please You to pull me up Lord, in Jesus Name.
