Plug The Leaks I

‘Zion will be restored by justice; those who repent will be revived by righteousness’ Isaiah 1:27

There are a couple of things that lead to losses in the first place. You have already begun to recover the things that were taken from you. So it is important for you to plug the things that led to loss in the first place, so that affliction will not arise a second time. The first of such leaks is unresolved character flaw. When there is an unresolved character flaw, it leads to losses. When God restores you, you have to plug this character flaw otherwise it will lead to more loses. Lying was Abraham’s character flaw and it almost cost him his wife [Genesis 20]. Was God not able to protect Abraham and his wife? Of course He was. Abraham was willing to risk another man sleeping with his wife because he did not want to stand in integrity. God had mercy and restored him. Samson did not see the need to plug his character flaw because God was still answering his prayers and working through him. Again his character flaw led to a loss and caused him to fall short of the destiny God had for him [Judges 16]. I am praying that you would not have to get to that day but learn from these examples. You have to plug the character flaw. Seek help if need be. For some people the issue is that you talk too much. God has just begun to do something, it is still in its infancy and you have told everyone you know. Before you know it, you attract unnecessary battles and resistance to your breakthrough. This sometimes can lead to total loss. Then God in His mercy brings another opportunity your way, thinking that you have learnt. Not quite, you still want to tell one more person. You have to plug that flaw so that when God restores you again, you do not leak it away. For some others it is anger. They excuse it as a family trait. It is a character flaw and it will lead to a loss. Anger, fornication, lies, adultery, talkativeness are character flaws that can lead to a leak. Resolve every character flaw by the help of the Holy Spirit so that you do not suffer the pain of complete loss.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, please open my eyes to see every unresolved character flaw that is causing loss in my life. Help me plug every such flaw. Have mercy and restore me Lord, in Jesus Name.
