Comrades
2 Samuel 15:31 “When someone told David that his adviser Ahithophel was now backing Absalom, David prayed, “O Lord, let Ahithophel give Absalom foolish advice!”
So far, we have looked at two of five of the types of relationships we need in our lives in order to be limitless and truly become all that God has called us to be. We need both Conspirators and Constituents.
The Neighbours
2 Kings 4:3 “And Elisha said, “Borrow as many empty jars as you can from your friends and neighbours.” (emphasis added).
The second type of relationship you need, to be limitless and to truly become all that God has created you to be, is Constituents. In 2 Kings 4, it is pretty clear that the constituents were the neighbours. Elisha told the woman to go to her neighbours, her constituents.
Friend
Matthew 26:48-50 “The traitor, Judas… came straight to Jesus. “Greetings, Rabbi!” he exclaimed and gave him the kiss. Jesus said, “My friend, go ahead and do what you have come for.” Then the others grabbed Jesus and arrested him.” (emphasis added)
We will kick off today’s devotional from yesterday’s final thought. And that is the fact that God wants you to prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers (3 John 1:2). But the enemy has a different plan for you. Anyone on the side of the enemy becomes a conspirator, an enemy.
But God!
2 Kings 4:1 “One day the widow of a member of the group of prophets came to Elisha and cried out, “My husband who served you is dead, and you know how he feared the Lord. But now a creditor has come, threatening to take my two sons as slaves.” (emphasis added).
Conspirators will seek you out. As we see in the story, not only did the conspirator (the creditor) seek this widow out, the creditor came threatening to take her sons as slaves. Meaning the woman will know her children are alive, but the children will probably be sold off to a far country.
Fight!
Nehemiah 4:14 “Then as I looked over the situation, I called together the nobles and the rest of the people and said to them, “Don’t be afraid of the enemy! Remember the Lord, who is great and glorious, and fight for your brothers, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your homes!”
A person who plots with others to hate on you, spread rumours about you, or to harm you if they can, is a Conspirator. The Bible says in 1 John 3:15 that hate is on the murder spectrum. Anyone trying to destroy you can kill you and is your enemy. Read the rest of this entry
Conspirator
Daniel 6:5 “So they concluded, “Our only chance of finding grounds for accusing Daniel will be in connection with the rules of his religion.”
You need five types of relationships in your life to be limitless and to truly become all that God has called you to be. You need to have a Conspirator, Constituent, Comrade, Confidant, and Commander. We see all these relationships represented in 2 Kings 4:1-4
Relationships
Proverbs 18:24 “A man who has friends must himself be friendly, But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.” (NKJV)
In other words, if you want friends, you have to take the initiative. If you want relationships, you have to take initiative. You have to be on the front foot for that relationship to happen. You have to ask for that launch date or ask to Read the rest of this entry
In Harmony
2 Kings 4:3-4 “And Elisha said, “Borrow as many empty jars as you can from your friends and neighbors. Then go into your house with your sons and shut the door behind you. Pour oil from your flask into the jars, setting each one aside when it is filled” (emphasis added).
Beginning today, we are turning our focus to the next ‘F’ – Friendships. However, it is important to mention that faith is so central to humans that when faith in God is absent, inevitably humans will develop faith in other things and systems.
Every Word!
Hebrews 4:12-13 “God means what he says. What he says goes. His powerful Word is sharp as a surgeon’s scalpel, cutting through everything… laying us open to listen and obey. Nothing and no one can resist God’s Word. We can’t get away from it—no matter what.”
It is all about your faith. Do not lose your faith. Tied to your faith is your praise. If you do not lose your faith, you will not lose your praise. If you do not lose your praise, guess what? Your family will be restored. Your finances will be restored.
Faith Attack
Job 2:9& 11 “His wife said to him, “Are you still trying to maintain your integrity? Still holding on to your precious integrity, are you? Curse God and die. Curse God and be done with it!” … Not once through all this did Job sin. He said nothing against God.” (NLT & MSG).
Many people have lost their faith because their family, faith, or finances are under attack. Many people have lost their faith because their fitness, their health is under attack. Some say, ‘If I am serving God, why should I have a headache?’
