The Power, I

2 Timothy 3:16-17 “All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.”

Your capacity to be wealthy and keep farming is what separates you completely from poverty. Isaac was already wealthy in herds, in cattle, and in servants but he continued farming. Why?

The Difference

Ephesians 6:5-8 “Don’t just do what you have to do to get by, but work heartily…always keeping in mind that no matter who happens to be giving the orders, you’re really serving God. Good work will get you good pay from the Master…” (MSG)

Edwin Lewis Cole says, “He who knows how will always have a job, he who knows why will always be the boss”. This statement should push us from just knowing how to knowing why in every area of our lives.

The Why

2 Kings 4:4 “And when you come in, shut the door upon you and your sons. Then pour out [the oil you have] into all those vessels, setting aside each one when it is full.” (AMPC, emphasis added)

Vessels

2 Kings 4:3 “Then he said, Go around and borrow vessels from all your neighbours, empty vessels—and not a few.” (AMPC)

God Factor

Genesis 26:12-14 “Isaac sowed crops in that land, and that year he harvested a hundred times as much as he had sown, because the Lord blessed him. He continued to prosper and became a very rich man. Because he had many herds of sheep and cattle and many servants…” (GNT)

The Farm

Deuteronomy 8:18 “But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors…” (NIV)

For you to live a limitless life, you have to be in a place where your faith, finances, family, fitness, farm, friendships, and fun must be in sync. Our text remains 2 Kings 4:1-7 (please read).

Shoulder

Malachi 3:10 “…I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test!”

How many times did the woman go to Elisha? Once, yet Elisha said she and her sons are to live on the rest. How was she to make this blessing limitless, go from generation to generation?

Genesis 26:24 “…I am the God of your father, Abraham,” he said. “Do not be afraid, for I am with you and will bless you. I will multiply your descendants, and they will become a great nation. I will do this because of my promise to Abraham, my servant.”

We will kick off today’s devotional still focusing on Genesis 26:12-14When Isaac planted his crops that year, he harvested a hundred times more grain than he planted, for the Lord blessed him.

Multiply, You Must!

Psalm 144:13 “May our barns be filled with crops of every kind. May the flocks in our fields multiply by the thousands, even tens of thousands”

The second thing you need to do to live on the rest is Multiply. The truth is you cannot multiply what you do not have, what you have not retained. When you have retained it, you need to learn to multiply it.
