Give More

Acts 20:35 “…You should remember the words of the Lord Jesus: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”

To live the One Handful Living, the first thing you need to do is Throw Out. The second thing you do is Buy Less. And the third thing you need to do to live the One Handful Life is Give More. Read the rest of this entry

Buy Less

Luke 12:15 “…Take care! Protect yourself against the least bit of greed. Life is not defined by what you have, even when you have a lot.” (MSG, emphasis added)

To live what is known as the One Handful Living, the first thing you need to do is Throw Out and the second thing you do is Buy Less. I get that with Black Friday and Cyber Monday, we get good deals. I get it. Some of us are prudent,

Better Than

Ecclesiastes 4:6 “One handful of peaceful repose is better than two fistfuls of worried work—more spitting into the wind.” (MSG, emphasis added).

Yesterday, we began to look at how to achieve the One Handful Living and the first way is Throw Out. However, people struggle to let go because of Fear and Sentiments. We all have things that we are sentimental about, and I too am guilty of this. Read the rest of this entry

Throw Out!

Ecclesiastes 4:6 “Better one handful with tranquility than two handfuls with toil and chasing after the wind.” (NIV, emphasis added).

So how do you achieve this One Handful Living? Three things and the first is Throw Out. Do not get me wrong, I do not that you should open your door and throw everything on the streets. Throw out means getting rid of it from your life. The less you have, the less you have to worry about. Read the rest of this entry

Complete!

Colossians 2:10 “you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.” (NKJV)

The lie the enemy tried to sell to us is, what you do not have is what you need to be happy, fulfilled, and complete!  But the truth of God’s Word is, you already have what you need to be happy, fulfilled, and complete! You already have all that pertains to life. Read the rest of this entry

Travel Light

2 Peter 1:3 “His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue” (NKJV, emphasis added)

I pray in the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, that as you have come into God’s presence today, God will breathe on you Himself, change your heart, correct your course, and empower you. So, I do a lot of physical traveling, and something I have always loved is to travel light. Read the rest of this entry

Wisdom Nuggets

Proverbs 1:7 “Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.”

Proverbs 16:25 “There is a path before each person that seems right, but it ends in death.” Everybody has a path that appears okay, it makes sense, and it is logical. God says it is death that is waiting at the end. Read the rest of this entry

Wisdom Q & A, II

Proverbs 1:5-6 “let the wise listen and add to their learning, and let the discerning get guidance— for understanding proverbs and parables, the sayings and riddles of the wise.” (NIV)

How do I know when to use my brain and when to depend on God? The fact that you use your brain does not mean you are not depending on God. Using your brain is not counter depending on God. Using your brain is not against depending on God. Read the rest of this entry

Wisdom Q & A, I

Proverbs 19:8 “The one who gets wisdom loves life; the one who cherishes understanding will soon prosper.” (NIV)

What does contemplation mean? To contemplate is to give it a second look, to consider it again, or to think about it. For example, if something happens, and you want to make a decision, to contemplate would be to think about what you want to do. Do not make a brash decision. Read the rest of this entry

Whose Counsel?

Proverbs 21:30 “There is no wisdom or understanding or counsel against the LORD.” (NKJV)

We will kick off with our final thought from yesterday which is that God talks in different ways. It is as you walk with Him that you are able to differentiate between your instincts and His voice. But having said that, the fact that it is your instinct does not mean it is wrong. Read the rest of this entry
