Ingathering: Harvest

‘(When He said “living water,” He was speaking of the Spirit, who would be given to everyone believing in Him. But the Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus had not yet entered into His glory.) John7:39

Still dealing with the first significance of ingathering which is harvest. Harvest also means the gathering of every spiritual principle and gift that God has given to us from the beginning of this year up until now. For some of us God has taught us a lot of spiritual lessons. We have fought some battles and we have learnt some awesome things. Ingathering means we are to Read the rest of this entry

Ingathering

‘Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’ John 7:38

The feast of ingathering as it is known with the Jews is also known as the feast of tabernacle or the feast of booths. The physical meaning is gathering all the harvest of the agricultural year. Every harvest of the agricultural year that previously missed the sickle or shovel at the time of ingathering everything is brought in. He Gives Us Inner Strength & Companionship

I pray that from His glorious, unlimited resources He will empower you with inner strength through His Spirit’ Eph. 3:16

The Holy Spirit performs His ministry as the comforter by strengthening us from the inside and being our companion. As Christians we experience seasons in our lives that should ordinarily be low points but you cannot explain where the strength to pull through comes from. You may have perceived the burden too much for you to bear. But if you look back six months, you Read the rest of this entry

He Gives Us His Gifts

A person who speaks in tongues is strengthened personally, but one who speaks a word of prophecy strengthens the entire church’ 1 Cor. 14:4

The gifts of the Holy Spirit edify and build us up. The Holy Spirit gives us His gifts to build us up as individuals and as a Church. The word edify in the Greek is translated oikodomio; oiko means to build while domio means dominion. It literally means to build a house. The word edify means to build up, to embolden, or to encourage. The gift of prophecy, word of knowledge, word of wisdom, working of miracles, diverse kinds of tongues, and so on are gifts of the Holy Spirit. All the gifts Read the rest of this entry

He Acts On Our Behalf

‘In the west, people will respect the Name of the Lord; in the east, they will glorify Him. For He will come like a raging flood tide driven by the breath of the Lord’ Isaiah 59:19

The Holy Spirit does not only teach us, He acts on our behalf. Remember, the Comforter also means Advocate. The real meaning of the name Advocate in the Greek is a helper, a pleader, a proxy, one who comes forward on behalf and as a representative of another. ‘Oh, please help us against our enemies, for all human help is useless Psalm 60:11. The Spirit of Christ is the only one capable of answering those questions. The greatest teacher is the Holy Spirit. The Comforter II

‘But I will send you the Advocate—the Spirit of truth. He will come to you from the Father and will testify all about me’ John 15:26

The Holy Spirit is the spirit of Christ. No wonder the Bible says, ‘Christ in you the hope of glory’. The Holy Spirit is not different from Jesus Christ. Jesus says ‘I and the Father are one’. He says ‘I am going but I am leaving another Comforter, I am not going to leave you like orphans. I am going to come and stay with you’. So who is the Comforter? Jesus. Which means that everything Jesus was to the disciples when He walked with them side by side, the Holy Spirit is to us today. Read the rest of this entry

The Comforter I

‘And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you’ John 14:16

For the next few days we are going to be learning about the person of the Holy Spirit. Many times, people refer to the Holy Spirit as ‘something’ or refer to the Holy Spirit as ‘it’. The Holy Spirit is a real person. ‘But I will send you the Advocate—the Spirit of truth. He will come to you from the Father and will testify all about meJohn 15:26. Jesus referred to the Holy Spirit as ‘The Comforter’. It is amazing that Jesus is saying I am going and I am sending ‘the’ Comforter. Note Jesus did Read the rest of this entry

Ruth, Daniel and Paul

‘There’s an opportune time to do things, a right time for everything on the earth’ Ecc.3:1 [MSG]

Ruth transitioned properly and as a result she had a good testimony about her. She refused to abandon her late husband’s mother even though she knew there was nothing there for her but God. Ruth served Naomi well, when it was time to glean, she humbled herself and went to the fields without complains. It was her good testimony that attracted Boaz. Some of us ladies who are looking for life partners need to humble ourselves. Ruth humbled herself and packaged herself. We Read the rest of this entry

Joseph, Caleb and Joshua

‘Don’t be so naive and self-confident. You’re not exempt. You could fall flat on your face as easily as anyone else. Forget about self-confidence; it’s useless. Cultivate God-confidence’ 1Cor.10:12 [MSG]

God gave Joseph a great vision which he shared with his father and his brothers. His brothers became envious and conspired to kill him. But God delivered him and instead He was sold into slavery. Here was Joseph with his big vision but on his way to become a slave in Egypt. Joseph could have decided to hold on to the goodness in his father’s house and refuse to learn in the wilderness. But Joseph transitioned well and remained a prime minister in his heart. Even in Read the rest of this entry
