Knowing
“And the man said to me, “Daniel, you are very precious to God, so listen carefully to what I have to say to you. Stand up, for I have been sent to you”…” Dan.10:11
Always assume that the enemy is intelligent and competent. In your business, always assume that the competitor is intelligent and competent. At your office, always assume that the person vying for that same position is intelligent and competent. As Christians, we have an arch-enemy of our souls, satan. Never ever underestimate satan. I know we are victorious in Christ. I know we are seated in the High Read the rest of this entry
Be Sensitive
“So approximately 3,000 warriors were sent, but they were soundly defeated… Then the Lord said to Joshua, “Do not be afraid or discouraged. Take all your fighting men and attack Ai, for I have given you the king of Ai, his people, his town, and his land” Josh.7:4 & 8:1
There is intelligence in the spirit realm and you need to tap into it with the help of the Holy Spirit. For instance, Job was minding his own business and there were discussions going on in heaven about Job; but he was clueless. Assuming Job could tap into heaven and understand what was going on, perhaps he could have responded better. Perhaps he could have pleaded his case with God. There have been Read the rest of this entry
Consider This
“And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God” 1 Sam.30:6 [KJV]
Why are you so angry? Yesterday, we saw how anger kept Moses from entering his destiny. Anger will not keep you from entering your Promised Land, in Jesus Name. But you still need to watch out for it. We need to examine and weigh what we get angry about. Why are you so angry? Why do you allow yourself to be so short fused? Someone said, that is how we are in our family; when we get angry, we Read the rest of this entry
Be Careful!
“Then the Lord told Moses, “Chisel out two stone tablets like the first ones. I will write on them the same words that were on the tablets you smashed… No one else may come with you…” Ex.34:1&3
Please read 2 Kings 3:10-16 – it is the story of three kings who found themselves in a mess. And one of them [Jehoshaphat] said to the king of Israel, “let us find Elisha, the Word of God is with him”. Elisha was a man that was anointed of God; a solid prophet. They got to Elisha and he came out. But when he saw the king of Israel, he got so angry he could not even look at him. He said I do not even want to see your face; go and call the prophets of your Read the rest of this entry
The Sabbath Principle
“And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath day?” Luke 13:16 [KJV].
Jesus was saying to them, you are telling me that because it is a Sabbath, this woman should not be loosed? Shouldn’t she being a daughter of Abraham be loosed? When you put systems before sympathy, you will miss God. When you put “this is how we do it” before the people God came to do it for, you will miss it. And this was the problem with the Jews. Who instituted the Sabbath? God. When you now put the Sabbath before the people, there obviously will be a problem. And Read the rest of this entry
Stand Up & Stand Tall
“You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house” Matt.5:14-15.
The report of the spies was, “When they returned, they told Joshua, “There’s no need for all of us to go up there; it won’t take more than two or three thousand men to attack Ai. Since there are so few of them, don’t make all our people struggle to go up there” Josh.7:3. But fast forward to the next chapter, “Then the Lord said to Joshua, “Do not be afraid or discouraged. Take all your fighting men and attack Ai, for I have given you the king of Ai, his people, his town, and his land” Josh.8:1 [emphasis added]. God’s instruction for victory was the direct opposite of what the spies had suggested. Read the rest of this entry
Provocative Blessings I
“Then they took the man who had been blind to the Pharisees, because it was on the Sabbath that Jesus had made the mud and healed him” John 9:13-14
When a man who was blind from birth gets healed, what should happen in the community? They should be rejoicing and celebrating, right? However, I read the story in John 9:1-41, more than once, and nobody rejoiced with this man. The disciples did not rejoice with him, his neighbors did not rejoice with him, the Read the rest of this entry
Stewardship
“And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need” Acts 2:44-45 [emphasis added]
The early church was big on stewardship. The question is what is stewardship? Who is a steward? Simply put, a steward is someone that is in charge of some else’s property. A steward by definition is one who manages and looks after another’s property. You and I are stewards and this dates back to the very beginning. “The Lord God placed the man in the Garden of Eden to tend and watch over it” Gen.2:15. Read the rest of this entry
Sustained Bloom II
“Catch all the foxes, those little foxes, before they ruin the vineyard of love, for the grapevines are blossoming!” Sng.2:15
Bearing in mind that the second key to having sustained bloom is to get rid of little foxes, it is important for us to clearly understand what little foxes are. What are little foxes? Little foxes are those things we have termed little things, not because they are little spiritually but because we call them little. Things such as lying; if your excuse Read the rest of this entry
Caution!
“Then Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, each took his censer and put fire in it, put incense on it, and offered profane fire before the Lord, which He had not commanded them. So fire went out from the Lord and devoured them …” Lev.10:1-2 [NKJV].
What killed Uzzah? You can read Uzzah’s story in 2 Samuel 6. The Ark of God was coming to Jerusalem, and the Ark began to shake. So Uzzah touched it and God killed him. What actually killed Uzzah? If you study this portion of scripture properly, you will discover that although the Ark should not have been carried in a Read the rest of this entry
