Reset & Minimize
Acts 20:24 “I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may complete the race and finish the task that the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the gospel of God’s grace.” (NIV, emphasis added)
This was Paul speaking, and he was saying, “I don’t consider what I am losing, what I have lost, or what I have to go through. If only I can complete and finish the race, the task that was given to me”. Read the rest of this entry
Distractions
Mark 4:18-19 “The seed that fell among the thorns represents others who hear God’s word, but all too quickly the message is crowded out by the worries of this life, the lure of wealth, and the desire for other things, so no fruit is produced.” (emphasis added).
The first distraction that jumps at us from the anchor scripture is worry—the worries of this life. The antidote to worry is prayer. Philippians 4:6 “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything….” Read the rest of this entry
Dis-Traction, I
Proverbs 4:23 “Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.”
