Not Without Faithfulness
these peeled branches in the watering troughs… when they mated in front of the white-streaked branches, they gave birth to young that were streaked, speckled, and spotted’ Gen.30:37-39
Never make how an obstacle. The fact that you don’t know how doesn’t mean it is the end of the road. Don’t make how an obstacle for your vision. The fact that you don’t know how God is going to do it doesn’t mean it is the end of the road for you. While God’s how can be independent of our planning, God’s how cannot be independent of our faithfulness. What does this mean? It goes back to doing the right thing for long enough. More visions are aborted because of unfaithfulness than lack of Read the rest of this entry
My Story
‘The Lord had said to Abram, “Leave your native country, your relatives, and your father’s family, and go to the land that I will show you’ Gen.12:1
My spiritual father, late Pastor Eskor, asked us to start a church barely a year after I had left paid employment and we obeyed. Through out the period we served in that church, we were happy not to collect any salary. I had a business and I felt my money should be used for the Kingdom and not the other way round. Then one day God asked me to leave my business and focus on His work. And I brought my needs before God – my family, bills, Read the rest of this entry
Waiting Time I
‘For they all were trying to make us afraid, saying, “Their hands will be weakened in the work, and it will not be done”. Now therefore, O God, strengthen my hands’ Neh.6:9 [NKJV].
Yesterday we established the fact that waiting time is not wasted time. Today we will delve into the four “P’s” of waiting; these will help you maximize waiting time.
Waiting time is not wasted time, waiting time is Pondering time. It is the time to soak yourself in the vision Read the rest of this entry
Moral Imperative I
‘For if I preach the gospel, I have nothing to boast of, for necessity is laid upon me; yes, woe is me if I do not preach the gospel!’ 1Cor.9:16 [NKJV]
Yesterday, we began to talk about the question of burden as it relates to qualifying a dream or an idea. Let me just reiterate this point; do not go into what you don’t have a burden for. The fact that there is insecurity in the nation does not bother some people at all. So it cannot be the vision God has given them. If you find yourself as the chief security officer of a nation and it does not bother you that people are dying, you shouldn’t have that Read the rest of this entry
A Vulnerable Heart
‘I lie awake thinking of you, meditating on you through the night’ Ps.63:6
Everything starts with an idea. Many times when God wants to give us a vision for our lives, He starts by giving us a mental picture –an idea. Some of us get most of our ideas in the bathroom. Have you experienced getting songs in the bathroom? Have you ever wondered why? The reason is that when a lot of people come to church, even though people hear from God in church also, they are full of themselves. They seem like they are Read the rest of this entry
Could Be & Should Be
‘I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all’ Ecc.9:11 [KJV].
We are delving deeper in engineering your dreams and we trust that God will help us, in Jesus Name. ‘I have observed something else under the sun. The fastest runner doesn’t always win the race, and the strongest warrior doesn’t always win the battle. The wise sometimes go hungry, and the skillful are not necessarily wealthy. And those who are educated don’t always lead successful lives. It is all decided by chance, by being in the right place at the right time.’ Ecc.9:11. This scripture on the surface kind of suggests that life is just by luck. But we are going to learn that that is really not what this scripture is saying. The word engineering defined by Wikipedia.com means the science and art of acquiring and applying practical knowledge in order to design build and maintain structures, machines, devices, systems, materials, and processes. Big definition! Engineering simply means the science and the art of taking an idea from inspiration to fruition. In application, engineering your dreams means the science and the art of taking your dreams from idea stage of inspiration into the reality stage of fruition. And by dreams, we mean a mental picture of what could be. Having a dream is the first step but you need to receive a vision. Now it starts with a dream [a mental picture of what could be], a vision on the other hand is a mental picture of what could be and should be. The mental picture could be still, motion, motion picture with sound, still picture with sound, or without sound of what could be and should be. Vision is so important in leadership. All of us are leaders in one capacity or the other; you cannot lead without vision. If a blindfold is put around your eyes and you are told to run, how far can you run? If you run at all, you will probably be trying to feel what is in front of you lest you bump into a wall. Similarly, if you are a leader leading your home, business, family, life without a vision, you are apparently groping. And I pray that will come to an end today in Jesus Name. ‘Where there is no vision, the people perish…’ Prov.29:18 [KJV]. Read the rest of this entry
Wake Up!
“One time during the mating season, I had a dream and saw that the male goats mating with the females were streaked, speckled, and spotted’ Gen.31:10
A dream is a mental picture of what could be. For some it could be the possibility of a happy, harmonious, and joy filled marriage. That is a dream, something that could be. For some it could be the possibility of being wealthy and not having to beg. For some others, it could be more specific, the possibility of charging mobile phones without cables connected to anything – wireless charging. Dreams could be a still picture or a motion Read the rest of this entry
Fair Hearing
‘Come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most’ Heb.4:16.
The third thing we learn from Luke 18:1-8 is, the fact that you are right does not automatically win the case for you. So what does? The lawyers call it advocacy. ‘The judge ignored her for a while, but finally he said to himself, ‘I don’t fear God or care about people, but this woman is driving me crazy. I’m going to see that she gets justice, because she is wearing me out with her constant requests!’ Luke 18:4-5. Even though she was right, she did not get justice until she wore the judge out Read the rest of this entry
Transferable Treasure
‘So Levi got up, left everything, and followed him. Later, Levi held a banquet in his home with Jesus as the guest of honor. Many of Levi’s fellow tax collectors and other guests also ate with them’ Luke 5:28-29.
Why would Matthew do this? Matthew knew that he had the hope of eternal life and that he would go to heaven one day. Matthew knew that the only things you can take to heaven with you are the people you have affected for God. Your car cannot go, your house cannot go, your shirt cannot go, and the jewelries cannot go. If anyone tries to take jewelries or their family members attempt to bury them with all their gold, at night that grave will be burgled. The only things you can take to heaven Read the rest of this entry
On Display III
‘Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven’ Matt.5:16 [KJV]
You get to choose whether your light will shine or not. It is your decision. Jesus says let your light shine; Jesus did not say let your Pastor’s light shine. Did Jesus say your job is to go about ensuring that other people’s light shines? Did Jesus say let your life group leader’s light shine or let your neighbors light shine? No He said, you let your light shine. For instance, a woman quarrels with everyone in her community and even welcomes new neighbors with fights. Then this same woman Read the rest of this entry
