Deal With It!
‘If someone says, “I love God,” but hates a Christian brother or sister, that person is a liar; for if we don’t love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we cannot see?’ 1John.4:20
When offences come, it is wise to deal with them immediately so that they will not take root in your heart. Offence has the power to turn you into a visionless person because offence cripples vision. When Joseph was sold into slavery, he must have been hurt. Yet Joseph did not let offence creep into his heart, he Read the rest of this entry
Acceptable Offerings
‘So if you are presenting a sacrifice at the altar… and you …remember that someone has something against you, leave your sacrifice there at the altar. Go and be reconciled to that person. Then come and offer your sacrifice to God’ Matt.5:24-25.
The secret to giving acceptable offerings is reconciliation. The enemy knows this also, which is why he constantly puts the hurdle of offence before Christians. The Hebrew and Greek word for offence is Mishkal and Scandalon respectively. Both words mean a trap, a snare, an impediment placed in the Read the rest of this entry
Barrier to Acceleration: Unforgiveness
‘But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that Your Father in Heaven will forgive your sins, too’ Mark11:25
Unforgiveness is a major barrier to acceleration. It can be likened to accelerating along the path to destruction. May God deliver us from every kind of negative acceleration, in Jesus Name. It has been said, that Unforgiveness is like drinking poison and hoping the other person would die. ‘But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that Your Father in heaven will forgive your sins, too’ Mark11:25. You need to let go of what that person did to you and forgive them. It is not Read the rest of this entry
Barrier to Acceleration: Un-confessed Sin
‘People who conceal their sins will not prosper, but if they confess and turn from them, they will receive mercy’ Prov.28:13.
To ensure that God’s Word of acceleration manifests in full in your life, it is important to know and deal with every obstacle that attempts to impede your acceleration. With cars, there is the barrier of suspension. When it is lifted, the two front tires of the car become suspended. No matter how hard that car accelerates, there will be no change in position until that barrier is removed. God will deal with and remove every of such Read the rest of this entry
Bless Them
But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! Matt.5:44
Jesus commands that you pronounce blessings especially on those who persecute you. And while He was being crucified Jesus embodied this teaching. Even love requires a deliberate effort; no doubt it would be difficult but love says be kind to the people that persecute you. Take it a Read the rest of this entry
Effective Forgiveness
‘Bless those who persecute you. Don’t curse them; pray that God will bless them’ Rom.12:14.
Are you waiting to feel better before you forgive that person who has hurt you? Guess what, satan will make sure you don’t feel better and so you never forgive, that is his job. With forgiveness, you cannot rely on how you feel because chances are you have just been hurt and the memory is still fresh. At this point Read the rest of this entry
First Words
Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing”. Luke 23:34a
‘Father, forgive them for they don’t know what they are doing’. We know that He was in excruciating pain but Jesus still had to say what was most important even in death. Forgiveness was important to Him, a twofold forgiveness. Firstly He had chosen to forgive His crucifiers, inspite of the ridicule, abuses, pain and punishment. Secondly, He went to God on their behalf asking for forgiveness Read the rest of this entry
Be Merciful
‘Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven’ Luke 6:37 [NIV].
Be merciful! God will not ask you to give to others what He has not first given you. If you have obtained mercy, you must also give mercy. To who much is given, much is expected. Jesus says that loving Him translates to obeying His commands. God’s command to you and I today is be merciful. Mercy is not getting what you deserve; being merciful is not giving people what they Read the rest of this entry
Mercy and Grace
‘And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth’ John1:14 [KJV]
Growing up, when you know that your father is merciful, you would not hide anything from him. It is the same thing with God, if you take God as your Father who is merciful. However, unlike our earthly fathers, God already knows everything we have ever done and will do. It would be self- Read the rest of this entry
Access
‘…For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children. I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn’t receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it’. Luke18:16b-17
Some people want to enter into the Kingdom and the abundance of God but are ‘too big’ to meet the requirements. Jesus says whoever wants to enter the Kingdom of God must come as a little child. In other words, entering the Kingdom means shredding every trace of pride, self-righteousness, self-sufficiency etc. For the Kingdom of God to manifest in your finances, Read the rest of this entry
