To Freedom

Galatians 5:13 “It is absolutely clear that God has called you to a free life. Just make sure that you don’t use this freedom as an excuse to do whatever you want to do and destroy your freedom. Rather, use your freedom to serve one another in love; that’s how freedom grows.” (MSG)

Most times, we have an idea of who we think God is and how we expect God to respond. So, God has to rattle and shake the foundation of such beliefs. However, the beauty is that He does not leave us there. After He has shaken our foundation, Read the rest of this entry

Shake Up

Hebrews 12:27 “By this he means that he will sift out everything without solid foundations so that only unshakable things will be left.” (LB)

Today, we will pick up our discussion from the final thought from yesterday’s devotional. And that is the fact that some doors can actually be traps. For instance, traditions can be a trap. Romans 8:1 “So now the case is closed. There remains no accusing voice of condemnation against those who are joined in life-union with Jesus, the Anointed One.” (TPT).

Tetelestai!

Hebrews 12:2 “Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we’re in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God—he could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever…” (MSG)

Jesus surrendered His life for you and I! He gave His life for you and me, He voluntarily gave up His spirit. You do not give up what is taken from you. If something is taken from you forcefully by lies, coercion, or manipulation. But none of those made Jesus give up His life. Read the rest of this entry

At The Centre

2 Corinthians 6:1 “In our work together with God, then, we beg you who have received God’s grace NOT TO LET IT BE WASTED” (GNT, emphasis added).

God wants us to centre our lives around Him (worship), learn to love His family (fellowship), cultivate spiritual maturity (discipleship), contribute something back (ministry), and tell others about His love. 2 Corinthians 5:18&20 “…Through Christ, God made peace between us and himself,  Read the rest of this entry

Significance

1Peter 4:10 “God has given each of you some special abilities; be sure to use them to help each other…” (LB, emphasis added)

God wants us to centre our lives around Him (worship), learn to love His family (fellowship), cultivate spiritual maturity (discipleship), and contribute something back (ministry). How do we serve a God that is invisible? We serve God by serving people. Read the rest of this entry

Grow & Contribute

Hebrews 5:12 “By now you should be teachers. Instead, you still need someone to teach you…!” (GW, emphasis added).

You can grow old, without growing up. There are a lot of people who have grown old, but they have not grown up. They are saved, but they are shallow. As you grow old physically and in Christ, God wants you to grow up. You have to be a life learner; you have to be a disciple. Read the rest of this entry

Love & Grow

Philippians 1:9 “I pray that your love will overflow more and more, and that you will keep on growing in knowledge and understanding”

Yesterday, we looked at the first of the five areas that you and I need to focus on for the rest of our lives and have a significant life both here on earth and in heaven. The first is, God wants us to centre our lives around Him. God wants to be the centre of your life and my life. Read the rest of this entry
