Holy Matrimony I
‘Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge’ Heb.13:4 [KJV]
There are varying opinions out there about marriage and what is ‘acceptable’ within the confines of marriage especially on the topic of sexual acts in marriage. Are there wrong sexual acts inside of marriage – is oral sex allowed within marriage? Some people would tell you that engaging in oral sex, anal sex, masturbation, pornography within marriage is wrong. I would personally not group oral sex with anal sex, pornography, and masturbation. I agree that engaging in masturbation and pornography is wrong because it hurts Read the rest of this entry
With God And With Men II
‘Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body’ 1 Cor.6:19-20.
God says to us clearly that we do not belong to ourselves anymore. You have a stamp on you that reads, ‘property of the Most High God’. Therefore, you cannot be single and giving or receiving oral sex. You are sinning! You need to repent and ask Jesus to cleanse you. You have no business with oral sex if you are single because you are defiling yourself regardless of whether you are a biological virgin or not. Virginity is a symbol of purity by the time you begin to engage in oral sex, it is defilement. You see when it comes to Read the rest of this entry
Virtue
‘Everything is pure to those whose hearts are pure. But nothing is pure to those who are corrupt and unbelieving, because their minds and consciences are corrupted’ Titus 1:15
There is virtue in remaining a virgin till marriage but some Christian men claim that they have experienced rejection because of this virtue. I am certain that a Christian woman who is totally submitted to God will not have issues with her husband for being a virgin. Again the women who are rejecting you, are they really saved themselves? Check! Once you are truly saved, Jesus Christ becomes the center of your life and you are attracted to purity. In fact, I would have thought that I would be the woman complaining that it is Read the rest of this entry
Tongues
‘And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability’ Acts 2:4
During our question and answer series a number of life changing questions were put forward. We turned to scripture for answers because ‘all Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work’ 2 Tim.3:16-17 [NIV]. Someone wanted to know if writing in tongues had scriptural backing. She had a friend who writes in tongues and she was finding it a bit confusing. Have you seen Read the rest of this entry
You Will Receive
‘So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him’ Luke 11:13
Are you one of those who haven’t received the baptism of the Holy Spirit despite attending several sessions? The first thing you need to know is that there is nothing necessarily wrong with you, just be sure that there is no un-confessed sin in your life. Some people say a Christian should not bother about confessed sins yet this is one of the things that can hinder what God wants to release into you. Be sure that there is no mental block. For some their mental block is as a result of bad experiences, wrong doctrine, or they have been Read the rest of this entry
The Compass
‘As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God’ Ps.42:1 [KJV]
The areas we have focused on over the past few days are critical. These are the things that can give us Christians a bad report before the world. Not the power for healing the sick. We have people who are filled with the Holy Spirit but are nasty at work. People are filled with the Holy Spirit and their spouses regret living with them. People who are filled with the Holy Spirit but all we can hear is noise. God wants us to open our hearts to Him. The Holy Spirit is a person and He can be Read the rest of this entry
The Power IV
‘The love of God is shed abroad our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us’ Rom.5:5[KJV].
It is the Holy Spirit that empowers us to love and forgive. Some one has hurt you very deeply perhaps a parent, spouse, siblings, or colleague. The only person that can make you forgive is the Holy Spirit. ‘If someone says, I love God, but hates a Christian brother or sister, that person is a liar; for if we don’t love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we cannot see?’ 1 John 4:20. If you don’t love the people you can see, how can you love the person you cannot see? The Read the rest of this entry
The Power III
‘So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves’ Gal.5:16.
The truth is that you cannot live a holy life in your strength alone. God is very prudent with resources. If He has given you His Spirit then it is because you need Him to survive. ‘…let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves’. Only the Holy Spirit can give you and I the power to live holy lives. People have said to me that they do not think God is interested in them because they have this incessant desire to do bad things. Can I tell you a secret? Read the rest of this entry
The Power II
‘After this prayer, the meeting place shook, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. Then they preached the word of God with boldness’ Acts 4:31.
The Holy Spirit gives us the power to share Christ boldly. Before Peter received the Holy Spirit he was really timid and when the chips were down he denied Jesus. When things got heated the disciples ran away. But when they received the Holy Spirit, Peter could confront danger without any fear. ‘And my message and my preaching were very plain. Rather than using clever and persuasive speeches, I relied only on the power of the Holy Spirit. I did this so you would trust not Read the rest of this entry
The Power I
‘For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children’ Rom.8:16.
We know that the promised Holy Spirit is with us. But what is He supposed to do really? ‘But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth’ Acts 1:8. What this means is no Holy Spirit no power. To operate as a Christian you need power. The Holy Spirit gives us that power. You can have a form of godliness but without the presence of the Holy Spirit there will be no Read the rest of this entry
