You Matter

For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope’ Jer.29:11

God knows the plans that He has for us. In actual fact, you only plan for the things that are important to you. If you plan for your family, it means your family is important to you. If you plan for your finances, it means your finances are important to you. If you plan for your spiritual walk, it means that your walk with God is important to you. Of course the converse is also the case for all of the examples above. For instance, if you do not plan for your spiritual growth, it means at least for the moment it is not important Read the rest of this entry

The Anointing

‘And you know that God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. Then Jesus went around doing good and healing… for God was with him.’ Acts 10:38

The presence of God creates the anointing. And the anointing sustains the presence. They go hand in hand. If Jesus needed the anointing, trust me, you need the anointing too. God anointed Jesus and He will anoint you too but you must desire it. The anointing does a couple of things in the life of every believer besides breaking yokes. The anointing enables you to walk in the supernatural, Jesus was anointed and He was able to walk in the supernatural. There anointing prepares you for the work that Read the rest of this entry

Rock Solid Guarantee

‘So why do you keep calling me ‘Lord, Lord!’ when you don’t do what I say?’ Luke 6:46

Over the past few devotionals we have highlighted the benefits of having God on your side. However the converse is also the case. If you do not have God on your side things will be withheld from you. There will be no assurances. You may get the rain that falls on the just and the unjust. At best you may get some mercy drops but there will be no assurance of the delivery of God’s promises for you. If God is not on your side, accusation will stand against you. You will be written off or wiped away by the storms Read the rest of this entry

Free From Fear

‘The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?’ Psalm 118:6 [KJV]

If God be for us, we will be free from fear; totally free from the fear of men. A lot of people are trying really hard to please people. As such, they end up living a life of discontentment and disappointment. This is an expression of approval addiction. This is not the way God wants you to live. The only One you need to be concerned about His approval is God. You have to play to the audience of the One. When you Read the rest of this entry

No Accusation Can Stand

‘Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for His own? No one—for God Himself has given us right standing with Himself’ Rom.8:33

‘And who would dare tangle with God by messing with one of God’s chosen?’ Rom.8:33 [MSG]. If God be for us, no accusation can stand against us. ‘Teacher, they said to Jesus, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. The law of Moses says to stone her. What do you say? They kept demanding an answer, so Read the rest of this entry

You Are Worth More

It was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God’ 1 Peter.1:19

The value of something is determined by what people are willing to pay for it. What are you worth? You are worth more than you can imagine or understand but God gives you a clue of what you are worth. ‘For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. True Sacrifice

‘For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son. That whosoever believeth in Him will not die but have eternal life’ John.3:16.

True sacrifice to God results in unimaginable breakthrough. It is important to remember that when men look on the outside, God looks at the heart. This is why Jesus took us through the example of the widow and the significance of her offering to God [Mark 12:41-44]. In the eyes of men, what she gave was of little Read the rest of this entry

Dispelling Internal Storms

‘When besieged, I’m calm as a baby. When all hell breaks loose, I’m collected and cool’ Ps.27:3 [MSG]

The storm within is more lethal than the storm without. As soon as you secure the presence of God, the first thing He proceeds to deal with is your internal storm. Jesus has to address every internal storm of anxiety, worry, depression, fear, uncertainty, and doubt; before dealing with the storm without [Matt.6:25]. Of course you will find yourself having to go through very tough situations. You must choose not to worry but instead keep your heart stayed on God. You may not have the answers but you know the God who has all the Read the rest of this entry

Securing His Presence

‘Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me’ Ps.23:4 [KJV]

The major key to stilling every storm in our lives is securing the presence of God. Safety they say is not in the absence of danger but in the presence of the Lord. His presence guarantees your safety and deliverance inspite of the storm. This is why you repeatedly hear people testify that even though they experienced real life storms with waves crashing and all, their boats did not capsize. ‘Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for You are close beside me. Your rod and Your staff protect and comfort me’ Read the rest of this entry

Sources of Storms III

‘Saul’s son Jonathan had a son named Mephibosheth… He was five years old when the report came… that Saul and Jonathan had been killed… When the child’s nurse heard the news, she picked him up and fled. But as she hurried away, she dropped him, and he became crippled’ 2 Sam.4:4

Storms can arise simply because we live in a broken and imperfect world. These sort of storms are not your fault or from the enemy [even though the enemy would be happy] but are circumstantial. In other words, such storms are built on the imperfection in the world. Mephibosheth did nothing wrong. Arguably what happened to him was not an enemy attack. He was being carried away to safety but in the process he was dropped and he became crippled. This young boy would have to live with this health storm for the rest of his life.
