Hunger Equals Filling

Everyone is longing for something. Some people are just longing to be recognized. But except you enter God’s presence with the longing for God you will not be filled. Jesus was tempted in every way but without sin. There is no temptation that you are going through right now that Jesus has not experienced in one form or the other. When I read this scripture a long time ago, I said to myself that it is not possible because I did not think Jesus would have experienced what I was experiencing. Lend Yourself

Just like Jesus did with us, God expects us to be merciful and share people’s burdens. Some people’s reaction to other people’s pain is what is the big deal? A number of us are emotionally attached to people we are in relationships with. And when such people experience a loss we are moved with compassion for them. As such we want to lend a hand now and again to help make up for the emptiness they feel. However there are lengths that we must think carefully about before engaging. The pain of abuse, whether mental, emotional, or sexual, is a terrible thing. Some people who go through this experience think they will never recover from the pain, shame, and reproach borne out of such experiences.
