Nuptial Word

‘Look in the scroll of the Lord and read: None of these will be missing, not one will lack her mate. For it is his mouth that has given the order, and his Sprit will gather them together’ Isa.34:16 [NIV].

There are a lot of single Christian ladies of marriageable age who are trusting God for a Christian husband yet all their suitors are not Christians. And the number one question on their lips is what should I do? Honestly my heart goes out to them. Every real Pastor’s heart aches for his people who desire to get married and are not yet married. We are praying for you and we trust that God will bring your spouse in the Mighty Name of Jesus. Yet for our own posterity, it is in our best interest that we defer to the authority of the Word Read the rest of this entry

A Relationship

‘Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world’ James 4:8.

If you are married and you never spend time with your spouse, can you have a relationship with him/her? Of course not! You can sleep on the same bed and yet be total strangers. This is also true about our relationship with the Holy Spirit. Don’t just be content with having Him around; you have to talk to the Holy Spirit. You have to find time to be with the Holy Spirit. You have to create time to live in Him, move in Him, and exist in Him. Some people see the Holy Read the rest of this entry

The Priest

The living, the living, he shall praise thee, as I do this day: the father to the children shall make known thy truthIsa.38:19 [KJV]

The father is the priest. Priests are custodians of God’s Word and law. The father should be the custodian of the Word and should teach it to the children. ‘The living, the living, he shall praise thee, as I do this day: the father to the children shall make known thy truthIsa.38:19 [KJV]. The father is the priest and runs the priesthood. Of course the mother too can teach the Word of God. Yet the fathers are the custodians of the priesthood. Priests, apart from being custodians of the Word of God, are responsible for sacrifices and all the Read the rest of this entry

The Help Mate

‘And the Lord God said, it is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him’ Gen.2:18

Yesterday we said that some men pass through seasons in their lives where they are unable to function as providers for their family. It is the responsibility of every wife to understand how hard this is for her husband and support him through that season. Support, encourage, and pray for your husband because he will come out of that season in Jesus Name. There is no one that stays in God’s Favourite House that will remain poor. I say this with all humility and the integrity of God in my heart. I have made a covenant with God upon this house Read the rest of this entry

The Power of Headship

‘Then God said to Abraham, “your responsibility is to obey the terms of the covenant. You and all your descendants have this continual responsibility’ Gen.17:9

Every man wants to be successful. There is no man really that does not want to be successful. In fact the craving of the heart of everyman is to be successful. But if we do not understand what success really means we will end up not being successful in our efforts to be successful. The best definition of success that I have come across is the one given by John Maxwell “you are successful when the people that know you the most and are closest to you respect you the most”. That is tougher than being a millionaire, believe me. If the people Read the rest of this entry

Maritally Faithful

What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunderMark 10:9.

The eagle is maritally faithful until death. When a male and female eagle pair up, note eagles lives up to 120 years, they stay faithful till death. They do not cross fences like chickens. The eagle is committed to its spouse until death. In the eagle community, there is marital dignity. Unlike other birds, eagles don’t Read the rest of this entry

Two Are Better II

‘A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken’ Ecc. 4:12

‘A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer’. In other words, you can only confront what you are facing. It is difficult to confront what you are backing. God is saying that when you are in a community [marriage, family, or church] when you face one Read the rest of this entry

Enduring Submission

Relish life with the spouse you love each and every day of your precarious life. Each day is God’s gift. It’s all you get in exchange for the hard work of staying alive. Make the most of each one!’ Ecc.9:9 [MSG]

Love is a bold line you can draw through the life of Jesus Christ. The bold line of love is visible still at His death and resurrection. Jesus is all about Love. It was not the nails that kept Jesus on the cross, it was love. God expects us to walk in this same depth of love. Napoleon said “I know men and I tell you that Jesus Christ is no mere man. Between Him and every Read the rest of this entry

Invoking God’s Blessings II

‘Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart’ John 7:38

Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothingJohn 15:5. And we know that the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Christ. Yet there are Christians today who choose to stay without the Holy Spirit. They do not want to heal the sick or prophesy. They do not thirst for the anointing and Read the rest of this entry

He Teaches Us

‘But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—He will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you’ John 14:26

The Holy Spirit is the greatest teacher. He is able to teach us everything we do not know. Life is filled with mysteries and every day births new questions. The Spirit of Christ is the only one capable of answering those questions. The greatest teacher is the Holy Spirit. Yet in order to learn from Him, you have to engage Him. ‘But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I Read the rest of this entry
