Envy
‘The high priest and his officials, who were Sadducees, were filled with jealousy. They arrested the apostles and put them in the public jail’ Acts 5:17-18.
Over the next few days we will be discussing three major reasons why we face persecution as Christians. Let this better prepare you and help you endure. The first reason why you will face persecution is envy both from religious people and the world. People are going to be envious of you because you have chosen to walk with Jesus. If nobody is envious of you then something is wrong. In this case of the disciples, the religious people could not stomach their Read the rest of this entry
Virtue
‘Everything is pure to those whose hearts are pure. But nothing is pure to those who are corrupt and unbelieving, because their minds and consciences are corrupted’ Titus 1:15
There is virtue in remaining a virgin till marriage but some Christian men claim that they have experienced rejection because of this virtue. I am certain that a Christian woman who is totally submitted to God will not have issues with her husband for being a virgin. Again the women who are rejecting you, are they really saved themselves? Check! Once you are truly saved, Jesus Christ becomes the center of your life and you are attracted to purity. In fact, I would have thought that I would be the woman complaining that it is Read the rest of this entry
Maturity
‘Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need’ Matt.6:33
A lot of people and even Christians are concerned about the effects that wealth can have on true love especially since the Bible says ‘there will always be some poor among you’. If you read the preceding scriptures it also states that ‘There should be no poor among you, for the Lord your God will greatly bless you in the land He is giving you as a special possession’ Deut.15:4. Yes some Christians will be in lack because of the decisions they have taken by themselves. Some will also be rich because of the decisions they have taken Read the rest of this entry
Primary Responsibility
‘Who can find a virtuous and capable wife? She is more precious than rubies. Her husband can trust her, and she will greatly enrich his life. She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life’ Prov.31:10-12
Cultures vary from place to place but God has clearly defined the role of the man and the woman within the marriage relationship. Depending on the season in a marriage, responsibilities within the home can be shuffled around. So you are a young couple and your wife has just landed a job that pays her a salary that is four times your combined salaries. And you want to know if it’s acceptable to be a stay at home dad to allow her focus and maintain stability within the home. It’s definitely something to think about but you need to Read the rest of this entry
Nuptial Word
‘Look in the scroll of the Lord and read: None of these will be missing, not one will lack her mate. For it is his mouth that has given the order, and his Sprit will gather them together’ Isa.34:16 [NIV].
There are a lot of single Christian ladies of marriageable age who are trusting God for a Christian husband yet all their suitors are not Christians. And the number one question on their lips is what should I do? Honestly my heart goes out to them. Every real Pastor’s heart aches for his people who desire to get married and are not yet married. We are praying for you and we trust that God will bring your spouse in the Mighty Name of Jesus. Yet for our own posterity, it is in our best interest that we defer to the authority of the Word Read the rest of this entry
Profitable Word II
‘There should be no poor among you, for the Lord your God will greatly bless you in the land He is giving you as a special possession’ Deut.15:4
Will every Christian be wealthy? You have to start by ascertaining what defines wealth then to move from there. From Deuteronomy 15:4, it is clear that God has made provision such that there won’t be any poor amongst His people. ‘You will receive this blessing if you are careful to obey all the commands of the Lord your God that I am giving you today. The Lord your God will bless you as he has promised. You will lend money to many nations but you will never need to borrow. You will rule many nations, but they will Read the rest of this entry
Profitable Word I
‘All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work’ 2 Tim.3:16-17 [NIV]
‘For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven’ Ps.119:89 [KJV]. The Word of God is the highest authority. I find it ludicrous when people decide to discard the Word of God and attempt to answer questions based on logic alone. I really cannot discuss with such people because in my life I have decided that God’s Word is the highest authority. You have to make God’s Word the highest authority in your life otherwise you will have no premise for your decisions. If you want to be thoroughly equipped for every good work then you Read the rest of this entry
Learn and Grow!
‘All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness’ 2 Tim.3:16 [KJV].
We all have certain questions that we wrestle with time and time again. Some of them may sound ridiculous to some of us that are perhaps more matured spiritually. But the truth is some people are still dealing with those issues in their lives and the issues must be addressed. Regardless of your spiritual state, it is profitable to deal with such issues so as to learn and grow plus help others grow. Asking questions is supposed to be a way of life really and we often see this play out with children. ‘Ask and it will be given to you; Read the rest of this entry
Voice Of Direction
‘One day the girl said to her mistress, “I wish my master would go to see the prophet in Samaria. He would heal him of his leprosy’ 2 king 5:3.
Naaman experienced five voices. We must understand these five voices. A lot of people experience the first three voices but I am praying that we’ll get to experience the last two in addition. The first voice that Naaman experienced was the voice of direction. The voice of direction said to Naaman there is a prophet in Israel. Many of us are looking for the voice of direction. Some are waiting for thunder and lightening and the voice of God. For Naaman, the voice of direction came from Read the rest of this entry
Inspite Of Dysfunction III
‘Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me’ 2 Cor.12:9
You are not the first child of God to experience challenges. But you have to remember that God is too faithful to fail you and choose to focus on God’s faithfulness. Paul spent a great part of his ministry for Jesus in a prison. Yet inspite of the prison bars, Paul witnessed Christ. Paul and Zechariah could have spent their entire time throwing pity parties about what was lacking in their lives. They could both have given up serving God. Do you think they were not ridiculed for witnessing God Read the rest of this entry
