6th Root of Personal Disharmony: Worry

‘Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God’ Phil.4:6 [NIV].

A large number of people have a PhD from the school of worrying, while others have made worry a favourite past time. Worrying has become a toy that they relax into on every occasion, during the day and at the end of the day. Philippians 4:6 is a command and not a suggestion from God. God does not want you to worry; a command not to be anxious for anything. God is saying do not worry about anything. So when you worry, you are disobeying God. Read the rest of this entry

100% Lord!

I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat is planted in the soil and dies, it remains alone. But its death will produce many new kernels—a plentiful harvest of new lives. John 12: 24

Do you just want to be known as a Christian or do you want to live a life worthy of the Name of Jesus. A woman cannot bear her fiancé’s name until she is married to him. There has to be a leaving and cleaving. God has given us the relationships around us so that we can understand what He expects from us. How often you go to Church or how big your Bible is, isn’t a representation of Read the rest of this entry

Understanding Favour: Response 3

For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will fill you with joy. Prov.2:10

You must let godly wisdom influence your responses and reactions to situations of favour.  Another form of rivalry between siblings occurs as a result   of an overflow of favour (favour by proximity). In this case, the other sibling begins to experience favour as a result of being around the favoured sibling. When you hang around someone who is favoured, just like anointing, it Read the rest of this entry

Understanding Favour: Response 1

As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated. Rom.9:13

When you examine all the cases of rivalry, one common denominator is favour. Either parental favour (which brews bitterness); or divine favour. God has favourites, it may not make sense but it is God’s choice. God wants to teach us to understand favour and as such how to properly respond to favour so that Read the rest of this entry

Agreement

Do two walk together unless they have agreed to do so? Amos 3:3(NIV)

Do two people walk hand in hand if they aren’t going to the same place? Amos 3:3(MSG)

Scientists tell us that the two eyes do not see the same object in the same say. One sees one perspective and the other another perspective and the brain puts both perspectives together. Then our minds interpret a complete image – harmony; this is a perfect picture of harmony. So why must you insist that Read the rest of this entry

Spiritual Head

The man who finds a wife finds a treasure, and he receives favor from the Lord. Prov.18:22

The roles of the husband and wife in the family are distinct; different but complementary. This is how God intended for it to be. He gave Adam the responsibility of tending to the garden and Eve the responsibility of helping. A number of couples confuse the roles and this brings about disunity and Read the rest of this entry

Family Harmony

Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose. Phil.2:2

God calls teams in every family; between the couple, between siblings and the entire family. The term harmony derives from the Greek ρμονία (harmonía), meaning ‘joint, agreement, concord’, from the verb ρμόζω (harmozo), ‘to fit together, to join’. The dictionary definition of harmony means ‘a pleasing combination of elements in a whole’. For a family to experience harmony, all of the parts must be working together as a whole. It is only in this agreeable state Read the rest of this entry
