Barrier to Acceleration: Un-confessed Sin
‘People who conceal their sins will not prosper, but if they confess and turn from them, they will receive mercy’ Prov.28:13.
To ensure that God’s Word of acceleration manifests in full in your life, it is important to know and deal with every obstacle that attempts to impede your acceleration. With cars, there is the barrier of suspension. When it is lifted, the two front tires of the car become suspended. No matter how hard that car accelerates, there will be no change in position until that barrier is removed. God will deal with and remove every of such Read the rest of this entry
Chastisement
‘For the LORD disciplines those He loves, and He punishes each one He accepts as His child’ Heb.12:6
An earthly father’s love translates to favour, a multitude of gifts and occasional punishment when the child steps out of line. Punishment, because his love leads him to protect the man that boy will become. How much more our Heavenly Father who is righteous in all His ways and holy in all His acts. A number of times we are led to equate God’s love to blessings and good times alone. While all of these are expressions Read the rest of this entry
For or Against
‘The hand of the Lord was on Elijah. He girded up his loins and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel [nearly twenty miles] 1king 18:46 [AMP]
The Hand of the Lord can be either for you or against you. I pray that the hand of God will be for you and never against you. To have the hand of the Lord against anyone or anything is a dreadful thing. People are quick to say that side of God was only experienced in the Old Testament. The incident with Ananias and Sapphira happened under the new covenant. ‘And Peter said, How could the two of you even think of conspiring to test the Spirit of the Lord like this’ Acts 5:9. You must not test the LORD Read the rest of this entry
Fall To the Ground
‘My servant grew up in the Lord’s presence like a tender green shoot, like a root in dry ground. There was nothing beautiful or majestic about his appearance, nothing to attract us to him’ Isa. 53:2
When God wants to grow you, He will take you through the humbling process. He encourages you to keep your focus on Him. When God is building your roots there is nothing beautiful about it but guess what you are coming up with fruit. Do not be in a hurry about the process. Relax and let your life grow roots. You may not even like the process but endure it for the glory before you. Foundation work is a dirty process. The history of the land lies in its foundations. The foundation building process cannot be accelerated. You can only accelerate at your own peril. God wants to do great things in your Read the rest of this entry
Choose Light
‘For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light!’ Eph.5:8
Today’s devotional is inspired by a story, a parable if you will; two young boys, Bob and James, cousins. Bob was born and has lived all his formative years abroad. He is accustomed to uninterrupted power supply, this is what he knows. James on the other hand, was born and has lived all his formative years in Nigeria. James knows what it is to go three weeks without power supply. And as the story goes, Bob and his father came to visit. At dinner on their first Read the rest of this entry

‘…For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children. I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn’t receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it’. Luke18:16b-17
Some people want to enter into the Kingdom and the abundance of God but are ‘too big’ to meet the requirements. Jesus says whoever wants to enter the Kingdom of God must come as a little child. In other words, entering the Kingdom means shredding every trace of pride, self-righteousness, self-sufficiency etc. For the Kingdom of God to manifest in your finances, Read the rest of this entry
Where On Earth Is The Kingdom?
‘Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the Kingdom of God will come, He answered them and said, the Kingdom of God does not come with observation’ Luke.17:20.
The domain of the King as scripture rightly points out is in Heaven. However, God is boundless and He has chosen to extend His domain on earth. Are you one of those wondering and perhaps even asking, where on earth is this Kingdom? Jesus gave the perfect answer to the Pharisees who also demanded to know where the Kingdom He always spoke about was; and today that answer Read the rest of this entry
Repentance
Have mercy on me, O God, because of your unfailing love. Because of your great compassion, blot out the stain of my sins. Psalm 51:1
I encourage you to read the entire Psalm 51; it is a comprehensive lesson on repentance God’s way. When it comes to sin and repentance, God expects us to respond in three ways. Firstly, we must see that there is a problem. ‘Have mercy on me, O God, because of your unfailing love…’ Ps.51:1a. David in his heart accepted that there was a problem and so he sought God for mercy and Read the rest of this entry
