Sources of Storms II
‘The farmer’s workers… said, Sir, the field where you planted that good seed is full of weeds! Where did they come from? An enemy has done this!’ the farmer exclaimed…’ Matt.13:27-28
The second source of the storms is the enemy. The farmer in the story in Matthew 13:24-27 had done what he was supposed to do. In other words he was in the right but he still encountered storms caused by the enemy. You may be experiencing something similar in your life, business, marriage, or education. You started out with good seed but the enemy has sown thorns alongside your seed. The enemy is determined to wipe you out, his mission is to kill, steal and destroy. Jesus says ‘I have come that you might have life and have it more Read the rest of this entry
Sources of Storms I
‘Throw me into the sea, Jonah said, and it will become calm again. I know that this terrible storm is all my fault’. Jonah 1:12
The storms that we experience are not without reason. Storms come from varying sources that is why it is important to check and identify the source of the storm. Identifying the source of the storm better equips us with understanding to deal with the storms through Jesus Christ. Storms we experience sometimes arise as a result of the choices or decisions we have made. ‘The LORD gave this message to Jonah… Get up and go to the great city of Nineveh. Announce my judgment against it… But Jonah got up and went in the opposite Read the rest of this entry
Solid Rock
‘The conies are but a feeble folk, yet make they their houses in the rocks’ Prov.30:26 [KJV]
‘Where there is no vision, the people perish…’ Prov.29:18. In God’s Favourite House, our vision is ‘to be filled with the life of Christ, released into our destinies, and taking the world for Him’. This means as a Church we are constantly striving to be all that God has called us to be. To be just like Jesus, living out God’s plan and passionately leading others to Jesus. It is all about Jesus, He is the Solid Rock on which we have hinged our tomorrows. To be filled with the life of Christ Jesus is to have our lives built on Him. ‘And the rain Read the rest of this entry
A New Thing II
‘New honors are constantly bestowed on me, and my strength is continually renewed’ Job 29:20.
With God there are always new levels to climb spiritually. No one can ever say they have arrived with God. This is why He is the Beginning and the End; each breaking day births newness. ‘…five of you shall chase an hundred, and a hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight’ Lev.26:8 [versus] ‘…one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight’ Deut.32:30. God is consistently reviewing plans to include new clauses so you need to be ready to evolve along with Him otherwise you will become un-usable. With God Read the rest of this entry
A New Thing I
‘But forget all that— it is nothing compared to what I am going to do’. Isa.43:18
God wants to give you a new beginning but the condition He is placing before you is forget the past. Forget the mistakes you have made, let go of the relationship that has ended, let go of the past pain and regrets, stop condemning yourself. Let it all go. What is done is done, it’s time to move on because God is about to do a new thing. On the other hand, some us have experienced breakthroughs and seen God work in certain dimensions that have marveled us. God is saying forget all that because its child’s play compared to what He is about to Read the rest of this entry
Why Fast: Part 6
‘Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed’ Ecc.4:9.
Two Are Better Than One: God says two are better than one. This is one of the benefits of being planted in your Church family. None of us is as strong as all of us, no matter how anointed you are. Once another person’s anointing is added to yours, it increases the anointing. There is a cooperate anointing that is released when we fast as a Church. There is a cooperate dimension to grace and favour that yields increased life changing breakthroughs which perhaps individuals cannot attain on their own. ‘Go and gather together all the Read the rest of this entry
Why Fast: Part 5
‘Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world’ James 4:8.
Personal Spiritual Development: For personal spiritual development. ‘He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to His name’ Ps.23:3. There are things that you cannot delegate or ask people to do for you. You cannot delegate praise and worship of your God; knowing your God; intimacy with your God; and personal spiritual growth. There are levels that God has for you that you have to work out by yourself. No Pastor can know God for you or read the Bible for you; no one can grow in fasting and Read the rest of this entry
Why Fast: Part 4
‘Then I pray to you, O LORD. I say, “You are my place of refuge. You are all I really want in life’ Psalm 142:5.
Building a Refuge: When you fast, you are building a refuge around yourself. The best time to build a refuge is when there is peace. Fasting [building a refuge] is being proactive; it is like saving for the rainy day. Fasting increases spiritual activity. ‘For the angel of the LORD is a guard; he surrounds and defends all who fear Him’ Ps.34:7. When you engage in fasting you build a wall of protection around your life, career, family, destiny and even your future. ‘The LORD is close to all who call on Him, yes, to all who call on Him in Read the rest of this entry
Why Fast: Part 3
‘And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of Heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in Heaven’ Matt.16:19 [KJV]
Breaking Strong Holds (Contd.): The potency of this scripture [Matt.16:19] is in taking it as it is. We have the keys because we have Jesus Christ and this translates to having influence over the heavenlies. One way of exerting that influence is by fasting. There are forces that are gathered against us [Read Ps.35:1-8]; and one way of breaking their backs is by prayer and fasting. There are times in your life when you will take steps that you are sure that God has asked you to take and you attract affliction. I have had one of such encounters Read the rest of this entry
Why Fast: Part 2
‘Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls’ Matt.11:29
Fasting Releases Favour: Esther was faced with the challenge of speaking for her people before the king. She needed favour to enter the presence of the king and not be killed. And also to save the Jews who were to be wiped out. Esther took out three days to seek God, to fast and pray [Read Est.4:16-17]. She went to obtain God’s favour first in the spiritual and she obtained favour before the king. Do you need favour in any area? Do some focused thinking about your life and take it to God in fasting. God will arise and favour you in Jesus Read the rest of this entry
