Little Beginnings II
‘He tells us everything over and over— one line at a time, one line at a time, a little here, and a little there!’ Isa.28:10
The days of little beginnings are not days of lazy beginnings. The Bible says, ‘the Lord rejoices to see the work begin’. The foundation of every project is the most important part. God wants to teach you the little things that lead to establishment. Pay attention. ‘…one line at a time, one line at a time, a little here, and a little there’. Excusing laziness at your foundational stage will only lead to lack. Little beginnings can also be equated to the place of waiting perhaps for the next big thing or for the doors to open unto you. God has placed Read the rest of this entry
Little Beginnings I
‘Do not despise these small beginnings, for the LORD rejoices to see the work begin…’ Zech.4:10
A lot of times we are so caught up with racing to the top that we miss out on vital lessons we need to learn along the way to the top. Never ignore the things you think are time wasting or useless. Most of the time, these are the lessons you will need in future. We are always so caught up with the seemingly big things that we tend to miss out on, overlook and grumble about the seemingly little things God is doing. ‘He who is faithful in little will be faithful in much’. It is the little things that God has begun that will lead you to the Read the rest of this entry
Incompetence
‘Seest thou a man diligent in his business? He shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men’ Proverbs.22:29 [KJV]
‘Using a dull axe requires great strength, so sharpen the blade. That’s the value of wisdom; it helps you succeed’ Ecc.10:10. You have been given the axe and the wood, however succeeding at this task is tied to sharpening the blade of the axe. Incompetence would mean knowing the blade needs to be sharpened but refusing to sharpen it. Incompetence is the bane of a lot of people. Many times, we excuse incompetence when we should not. For instance, a math teacher who does not know how to solve equations has no business teaching Read the rest of this entry
The Daniel Spirit
‘Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was found in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm’ Daniel.6:3 [KJV]
Excellence is what sets you apart from average. To excel is to go beyond the ordinary. An excellent person is always preferred and selected above people who are just good. God has placed a seed of excellence in everyone He created. All we need to do is develop that seed up to the fruit bearing stage. Daniel did not become excellent when he interpreted Nebuchadnezzar’s dream. His excellence didn’t start when he interpreted the writings on the wall, neither did it start when the king put him in charge of the whole kingdom. His Read the rest of this entry
Dispelling Storms:Personal Revelation
‘…Elisha prayed, O LORD, open his eyes and let him see! The LORD opened the …man’s eyes, and… he saw that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire’ 2kings 6:17
Personal revelation is key to dispelling both internal and external storms. You need to know without any shadow of doubt that Jesus is in your boat. It requires a personal revelation God wants to open your eyes because you need to have your own personal revelation amidst the storm. No other person’s revelation will work for you. Read 2 kings 6:15-17. Elisha could remain calm in the midst of a storm because he had personal revelation. Even though Elisha told the young man not to be afraid, it was not enough to dispel his fears. The Read the rest of this entry
Sources of Storms IV
‘It was not because of his sins or his parents’ sins, Jesus answered. This happened so the power of God could be seen in him’ John 9:3
Some storms arise by divine appointment. In other words, the storm is born out of predestination. You have been divinely appointed to meet with the storm. Some people have a hard time understanding or accepting that storms are borne out of divine appointment because all they know about God is that He is good all the time. Guess what, even in the midst of such storms, God is all together good. ‘The LORD is righteous in all His ways, and holy in all His works’ Ps.145:17. If you are experiencing such a storm it is because God is good. Read the rest of this entry
Sources of Storms II
‘The farmer’s workers… said, Sir, the field where you planted that good seed is full of weeds! Where did they come from? An enemy has done this!’ the farmer exclaimed…’ Matt.13:27-28
The second source of the storms is the enemy. The farmer in the story in Matthew 13:24-27 had done what he was supposed to do. In other words he was in the right but he still encountered storms caused by the enemy. You may be experiencing something similar in your life, business, marriage, or education. You started out with good seed but the enemy has sown thorns alongside your seed. The enemy is determined to wipe you out, his mission is to kill, steal and destroy. Jesus says ‘I have come that you might have life and have it more Read the rest of this entry
Sources of Storms I
‘Throw me into the sea, Jonah said, and it will become calm again. I know that this terrible storm is all my fault’. Jonah 1:12
The storms that we experience are not without reason. Storms come from varying sources that is why it is important to check and identify the source of the storm. Identifying the source of the storm better equips us with understanding to deal with the storms through Jesus Christ. Storms we experience sometimes arise as a result of the choices or decisions we have made. ‘The LORD gave this message to Jonah… Get up and go to the great city of Nineveh. Announce my judgment against it… But Jonah got up and went in the opposite Read the rest of this entry
Solid Rock
‘The conies are but a feeble folk, yet make they their houses in the rocks’ Prov.30:26 [KJV]
‘Where there is no vision, the people perish…’ Prov.29:18. In God’s Favourite House, our vision is ‘to be filled with the life of Christ, released into our destinies, and taking the world for Him’. This means as a Church we are constantly striving to be all that God has called us to be. To be just like Jesus, living out God’s plan and passionately leading others to Jesus. It is all about Jesus, He is the Solid Rock on which we have hinged our tomorrows. To be filled with the life of Christ Jesus is to have our lives built on Him. ‘And the rain Read the rest of this entry
A New Thing II
‘New honors are constantly bestowed on me, and my strength is continually renewed’ Job 29:20.
With God there are always new levels to climb spiritually. No one can ever say they have arrived with God. This is why He is the Beginning and the End; each breaking day births newness. ‘…five of you shall chase an hundred, and a hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight’ Lev.26:8 [versus] ‘…one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight’ Deut.32:30. God is consistently reviewing plans to include new clauses so you need to be ready to evolve along with Him otherwise you will become un-usable. With God Read the rest of this entry
