Influence?

Psalm 16:11 “You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.”

Presence influences happiness. How come nobody wants to be ignored? Presence with someone who cares about you makes the experience delightful. We have heard that women love attention. The truth is that men also love attention, in fact, every human being loves attention. Read the rest of this entry

Be Present

Isaiah 60:1 “Arise, Jerusalem! Let your light shine for all to see. For the glory of the Lord rises to shine on you.”

We start today’s devotional with our final thought from yesterday which is, as light God expects you to be present in your family, office, business, home, fellowship. The Path

Proverbs 4:18 “The way of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, which shines ever brighter until the full light of day.”

So far, we have looked at two light forward responses; the first is to Learn From The Past and the second is to Be Mindfully Aware Of “Good” Things That Distract From The Best Things. We need to be mindfully aware of the good path that distracts from the great path. Read the rest of this entry

Good vs. Great

Hebrews 11:24&26 “It was by faith that Moses, when he grew up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter… He thought it was better to suffer for the sake of Christ than to own the treasures of Egypt, for he was looking ahead to his great reward.”

Do not let the past define you regardless of the past – successful past or unsuccessful past. Read the rest of this entry

Look & Learn

Philippians 3:13 “…but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead.”

The light forward response to guilt is to Learn From The Past, without the past discouraging you from taking hold of your preferred future. One of the biggest things you can do for yourself is to learn from the past. Different people approach the past in different ways. Read the rest of this entry

By Light

John 10:10The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.”

We established yesterday that the first thing the enemy does when he sees a light forward life is to attack it with guilt. Have you never struggled with guilt? For most people, the answer will be yes but guess what? The truth is that you must also have experienced conviction. Read the rest of this entry

Not Guilty

Romans 8:1-2 “So now, those who are in Christ Jesus are not judged guilty. I am not judged guilty because in Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit that brings life made me free. It made me free from the law that brings sin and death.” (ICB)

A drift is when someone unconsciously moves very slightly off his or her course like we see in the image attached. The course of the plane is point O to B, the line labelled C is the drift line. Initially, it seems like nothing significant but as the plane keeps moving, the drift becomes more and more obvious. Read the rest of this entry

Steward

Ephesians 5:15-17 “So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. Don’t act thoughtlessly but understand what the Lord wants you to do.”

What do you do with what you know? God says, don’t live like fools. We erroneously think fools are people who do not know anything. But God’s word shows us that fools actually know a lot, but they do not do anything with what they know and that is what makes them fools. Read the rest of this entry
