Instructions

‘Then He said, Throw out your net on the right-hand side of the boat, and you’ll get some! So they did, and they couldn’t haul in the net because there were so many fish in it’ John 21:6.

Usually, what God will give you concerning any situation you face is an instruction. If there is one thing that is peculiar to instructions, it is the fact that instructions from God need to be obeyed. Many times, instructions from God come to us through the Holy Spirit as suggestions. However, think of it this way, if God suggests that you do things in a certain way, don’t you think it is in your best interest to make that suggestion priority? We know that our God never utters a careless word. People often refer to this world we live in as warfare and not a funfair. It Read the rest of this entry

Wait!

‘If a man die, shall he live again? All the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come’ Job 14:14 [KJV].

Sometimes when God speaks, situations will arise to try the word He gives you, and by extension try you the believer. In Genesis 15, Abram had just received God’s word of fruitfulness. And in Genesis 16, fresh out of the presence of God his wife Sarai comes to him with her maid to be his substitute wife and mother Read the rest of this entry

The Word: Written and Spoken

‘He sent out His word and healed them, snatching them from the door of death’ Ps.107:20

One of the things that God does to help us break the barriers we face is He sends His Word. These barriers could be cultural, religious, relational, or spiritual. For every barrier we might encounter there is a corresponding Word. For instance in response to the barrier death, God sent the Word of Life [John1:4]. Read the rest of this entry

Persistent Faith

‘Now pick up the other arrows and strike them against the ground. So the king picked them up and struck the ground three times. But the man of God was angry with him. “You should have struck the ground five or six times!’ 2 Kings 13:18-19

The key to breaking barriers is persistence. You cannot afford to go halfway and stop. Breaking barriers requires that you be unrelenting, do all that is required, and go all the way. You must stubbornly persist until you get the result you seek. Scripture gives us several examples of men and women who Read the rest of this entry

The Covering

‘Jael went out to meet Sisera and said to him, “Come into my tent, sir. Come in. Don’t be afraid.” So he went into her tent, and she covered him with a blanket. “Please give me some water,” he said. “I’m thirsty.” So she gave him some milk from a leather bag and covered him again’ Judges 4:18-19.

But when Sisera fell asleep from exhaustion, Jael quietly crept up to him with a hammer and tent peg in her hand. Then she drove the tent peg through his temple and into the ground, and so he died’ Read the rest of this entry

Unknown

‘The LORD our God has secrets known to no one. We are not accountable for them, but we and our children are accountable forever for all that He has revealed to us, so that we may obey all the terms of these instructions Deut. 29:29.

The truth is that there are things in nature that we see every day but its origins, destination and sustenance is known only by God. Every one of these elements in nature serves God’s purposes alone. How big is God really? Our minds really cannot phantom. What exactly can He do? Nobody knows. We know that there is nothing impossible with God. But there are a few numbers in nature that could help us out. There are currently about 7 billion people on earth. And science tells us that the earth can hold Read the rest of this entry

God takes pleasure in the prosperity of His people. God wants to bless us. He rejoices in granting our hearts desires in accordance to His will. God’s Willingness

One day, after a sermon based on 2 Peter 3:8, a little boy got home and prayed: “Dear Lord, our Sunday school teacher taught us that a day with you is like a thousand years and a thousand years like a day. Is that true?” God answers “Yes son”. The child continues: “Umm, can I then conclude Lord that a dollar Read the rest of this entry
