Supernatural: Introduction
‘…shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?’ Heb.12:9
God introduced the disciples and the church to the supernatural. He told the disciples to wait because the movement that was starting was not a natural movement. The movement was not to be attempted by power or by might. So they had to wait for power and for the supernatural, they waited fifty days. The Prophet
‘And Jacob called unto his sons, and said, Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall befall you in the last days’ Gen.49:1 [KJV]
The father is the prophet of the family. Where are the eyes? It is on the head so how come it is only your wife that sees visions? How come she is the one that hears what God is saying? How come she is able to discern and guide you on what investments to make or tell you the direction the Holy Ghost is moving in? All you are doing is going along with the direction she is providing. The Priest

The father is the priest. Priests are custodians of God’s Word and law. The Help Mate

Yesterday we said that some men pass through seasons in their lives where they are unable to function as providers for their family. It is the responsibility of every wife to understand how hard this is for her husband and support him through that season. Support, encourage, and pray for your husband because he will come out of that season in Jesus Name. There is no one that stays in God’s Favourite House that will remain poor. The Provider
‘But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he had denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel’ 1 Tim.5:8 [KJV].
The father is the provider. Fathers provide, that is what we are designed to do. A man that is not providing is malfunctioning, he cannot be happy. A man feels happiest when he is able to provide for his family. There was a time my wife and I needed to do something and naturally she asked me for the money. Protect Your Child II
‘Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths’ Prov.3:5-6 [KJV].
As a protector, it is your responsibility to protect your children against abuse and molestation. Some people abandon their children because of social functions and relatives, neighbors, or house helps molest these children. The children do not want to talk to their parents because they are hurt that their parents abandoned them and that was why something bad happened. Protect Your Child I
‘Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell’ Prov.23:14 [KJV].
You protect your children by disciplining them. Some people say when the Bible says the rod it is not referring to flogging rather it is referring to admonishing. The rod is the rod. The same Bible says foolishness abounds in the heart of a child but the rod of correction will chase it far away. If I wasn’t flogged perhaps I would be doing something else today. My mother, God bless her, insisted on and enforced discipline. The truth is that if you spare the rod, you will spoil the child. Fathers these days don’t want to flog their children. The Protector
‘Then David asked the Lord, “Should I chase after this band of raiders? Will I catch them?” And the Lord told him “Yes, go after them. You will surely recover everything that was taken from you!’ 1Sam.30:8.
The father is the protector. Your family should be able to run to your arms for protection. Your wife should be able to put her head on your shoulder and feel safe. When the father looses his ability to protect the family then the power of headship is eroded. Fathers operate a domain; you have to protect your domain. You have to protect your wife. God expects the fathers to mold and determine the culture. Culture simply means ‘how people behave’. Every institution has a culture [church, family, business etc.] whether spoken or unspoken. The culture can either be directly and intentionally influenced or left to chance. God expects you as the father to determine the culture in your home. In other words your children know that there is a zero tolerance to stealing or gossip. As a progenitor, you need to be known for something and pass same to your children. The foundation and purpose of fatherhood is headship. The man is the head of his wife and invariably the head of his family. To be a successful father, you must understand and deploy the power of headship. We have termed the five qualities that translate to power in headship the ‘five P’s’. Any of the ‘P’s that is lacking will translate to an erosion in that headship. And if there are a number lacking, the head technically just becomes a figurehead.
