A Life That Counts

The houses will be richly stocked with goods you did not produce. You will draw water from cisterns you did not dig, and you will eat from vineyards and olive trees you did not plant…” Deut.6:11

We are going to start today’s devotion by reiterating one of the truths from yesterday. The truth is that if the minds of men can conceive it then it is small compared to what God is going to do in your life. You need to remember this truth because this year you will take giants steps towards the fulfillment of your destiny in Jesus Name. You will be experience such acceleration that people who see you will be blown away. And you will live long by the grace of God. The Word of God says God will satisfy you with long life [Ps.91:16]. So let us say for example that a hundred and twenty years translates to satisfaction for you in terms of life expectancy. Someone was praying for me some time ago and said may you live up to a hundred and twenty years, I did not say amen. Why would I or anybody else want to live up for a hundred and twenty years? Don’t you want to go to this heaven you have been talking about? God will satisfy you with long life and for some people that translates to seventy or ninety years. Whatever it is for you, the important thing is for you to be able to say at the end of your life like Paul said, “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith2 Tim.4:7. Paul did not say I have finished Peter’s course.

We all have our courses, if you understand that, it will rid you of jealousy or envy. By the grace of God, there is nobody [not one] I am jealous of. Why? It is because I understand that we are running different races. My grandmother used to say, do not base the timing for happenings in your life on what is happening in other people’s lives. Get rid of all the “all my mates” comparisons. Don’t kill yourself; you are on a special track. By the time God is done with you, all your mates will celebrate you. But for some of us, because of where God is taking us to, God needs to prepare us extra. But while He is preparing you extra, you are grumbling and complaining – “all my mates”. Paul said I have fought a good fight. I am praying by the time you reach your desired satisfied age, you would say I have finished my course. That is a life that counts – I have finished my course! What makes a man so sure when he is alive that he has finished his course? That is what the next few days and weeks are all about, so pay close attention. We have begun to lay a foundation already and by way of foundation I am going to share four things with you that should give you perspective about making your life count. And as the days and weeks unfold, we will continue to build on this foundation.

Prayer: Father I thank You because You saw me before I was born and everyday of my life was recorded in Your book,
every moment was laid out before a single day had passed [Ps.139:16], in Jesus Name.
