Keys To Effortless Worship I

“Guard your heart above all else,
for it determines the course of your life” Prov.4:23

You are wired for worship. Your spirit, your soul, and your body are programmed to worship God. If you are not functioning well, then check your worship. It’s as simple as that. Your mobile phone is designed and programmed for communication, through text messages, phone calls, or video calls. If I decide to use a mobile phone to play table tennis, that might work to some extent but the phone will never reach its potential playing table tennis. You and I are designed for worship and worship flows from the heart. Jesus says that the Father is looking for those that will worship Him in spirit and in truth. Jesus is referring to the heart. The heart is where worship flows from. So what kind of heart makes worship effortless?

A grateful heart: The grateful heart makes worship effortless. It is almost impossible for you to be complaining or grumbling and be full of worship. It is almost impossible to focus on what you think God has not done and yet have worship flow from your heart. To develop a grateful heart, take your eyes off the things that God has seemingly not done and focus on the things that God has done in your life. Take it a step further and actually list them out. At least you are healthy, you can sit down by yourself, and you can smile if you chose to. Things could be worse than they are now, but God has ensured that it is not so. Grateful heart. “Let all that I am praise the Lord;
may I never forget the good things he does for me. He forgives all my sins
and heals all my diseases. He redeems me from death
and crowns me with love and tender mercies. He fills my life with good things.
My youth is renewed like the eagle’s!” Ps.103:2-5. If you are saved and your sins are forgiven, you can thank God till eternity. I know I can. Then thank God for healing your diseases and redeeming your life from destruction. Let your heart overflow with gratitude for God’s loving kindness and tender mercies that are a crown over you. And thank Him for the fact that He satisfies your mouth with good things so that your youth will be renewed like the eagles. The truth is that if you are murmuring and complaining you cannot be worshipping. They do not go together. A grateful heart overflows with worship of the Most High God, because it focuses on the goodness and mercies of God.

Prayer [song]: When I think of the goodness of Jesus and all He has done for me. My soul, my soul cries out Hallelujah! I thank God for saving me.
