The Resurrection!

“The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you” Rom.8:11 [emphasis added]

Easter is another name for The Resurrection. I would not argue about the origin of Easter; I will leave that to the critics. Instead, I will focus on Jesus. Rick Warren says, “The three days of the Easter season tells the story of our lives”. And what are the three days of the Easter season? The Good Friday, the Saturday, and the Resurrection morning [Easter]; these three days tell the story of our lives. When I look at the story of my life, it can be broken down into these different seasons. Everyone will go through the Friday season – the season of pain and rejection. It is the season when you are ostracized and you are confused. Some of us are in the Friday of our lives right now. You need to know that Jesus understood what it is to be in the Friday of life. Jesus knows what it is to be alone and to go through pain – physical pain, emotional pain and rejection. Jesus experienced all that. So to all of us who are currently in the Friday of our lives, Jesus is saying, I have been there and you are not going to die there. Some of us have gone past the Friday and are currently in the Saturday. Saturday is the day of doubt. The day when everything is dead and all you have is the Word of God. And God says, “I will bring a joy of children”, where are they? You will be married; “He sets solitary in marriage”, where is it? God says, “By the wounds of Jesus I am healed”, where is it? Saturday is the time beyond the pain but full of gloom. It is the time when there is silence; the time when waiting becomes mandatory.

Nobody is exempt; we all go through the Friday and through the Saturday. But thank God; if you have your faith in Jesus, you are going to go through the Resurrection morning. Thank God it does not end on Friday. Thank God it does not end on Saturday. Thank God there is Sunday. So Sunday is the day of celebration, it is the day of jubilation, and it is the day of resurrection. You may be on the cross right now, spat at and rejected. But take heart; Sunday is coming. You may be in a place of silence and gloom right now. Take heart resurrection is coming.

Prayer: Father, I thank You because my story will not end on Friday or Saturday. I thank You Lord for the Resurrection morning in my life, in Jesus Name.
