First Attack

“When the people heard the sound of the rams’ horns, they shouted as loud as they could. Suddenly, the walls of Jericho collapsed, and the Israelites charged straight into the town and captured it” Jos.6:20

In 1950 North Korea attacked South Korea by surprise and almost took out the whole nation including the allied forces; the U.S. who was behind them. But the military general of the Americans also launched a counter surprise in the Inch’on landing. And He cut off the supplies of North Korea. North Korea practically starved to death [No water, no food, no medical supplies]; the war came to an end quickly. In 1967, the third Israeli Arab war called the Six-day war. The Arab nations ganged up against Israel because they did not support 1948 creation of Israel. Their objective was to wipe out the nation of Israel. And leading this campaign was Egypt, backed by Syria, in the north East and Jordan on the east. So Israel was surrounded.

As they were planning to attack Israel, Israel deployed this same principle – the Principle of Surprise. On June 5th, 1967, Israel attacked the air force base of Egypt, Syria, and Jordan and rendered their air force useless; leaving Israel with superior air power. By the 7th, Egypt had surrendered; they had taken Gaza strip in Sinai Peninsula. By the 7th and 8th they had taken west bank and the old Jerusalem city; Jordan surrendered. By the 9th and 10th they had taken Golan Heights and Syria surrendered. And in six days Israel had won the war, only six days. Why? Because they refused to allow their enemy get ready. Do not allow your enemy to get ready. You do the first attack. Back in the day, before I got saved, I used to fight a lot. There is a technic called the first attack. If you are able to launch the first attack effectively, you will most likely win the fight.

In the Book of Joshua 6:1-27 [please read], the children of Israel had been given an instruction to surround Jericho. They marched round Jericho every day for six days. The people of Jericho were wondering what they were doing because they had no clue. Then on the seventh day, they marched round seven times and gave a shout. As they shouted, the wall crumbled. Surprise! They took over. You must learn how to deploy the principle of surprise to your advantage.

Prayer: Holy Spirit, teach me how and when to use the Principle of Surprise to my advantage, in Jesus Name.
