Death To Life V

“Always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body… So then death is working in us, but life in you2Cor.4:10, 12 [NKJV, emphasis added].

Every parent understands this principle of life. Every good parent knows that they need to sacrifice so that their children can have a great future. Good parents choose to pay the children’s school fees over buying a new bag. Every parent knows that [as it were] death is working in us so that life can come out through our children. In fact, when a mother gives birth in the western part of Nigeria, the Yoruba people say “eku ewu omo” meaning you have just come through death to give life.

Every pastor knows that it takes great sacrifice to bring life. Even you know when you take on spiritual exercise like fasting, because you are going down physically so that you can come up spiritually. Sometimes after seasons of fasting, even my belts do not fit any more but the life is unquantifiable. Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal2Cor.4: 16-18 [NKJV, emphasis added]. If your focus is on the things you can see, you will not pay the price you need to pay to take you to where God wants to take you to. You have to take your eyes off the things that are seen and keep your eyes on the things that are not seen. Why? Because the things that are seen are temporal and the things that are not seen are eternal.

I tell you the truth: unless a grain of wheat is planted in the ground and dies, it remains a solitary seed. But when it is planted, it produces in death a great harvestJn.12:24. Jesus is just an enigma; His responses are out of this world. The reason many of us are not seeing the progress that we have been mouthing is because we are not paying the price that we should pay. Today, you will pay the required price and you will get the desired result, in Jesus Name. Even Jesus had to die so that we can live. He took upon Himself our infirmities so that His wounds can heal us. God is saying that Jesus has paid the price for your life. Are you not grateful for that?

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I am totally grateful for Your life at work in me. For the life set before me, help me endure the seasons of death, in Jesus Name.
