John 7:3-5 “and Jesus’ brothers said to him, “Leave here and go to Judea, where your followers can see your miracles! You can’t become famous if you hide like this! If you can do such wonderful things, show yourself to the world!” For even his brothers didn’t believe in him.”
We will start off today’s devotional with our final thought from yesterday. You will notice that in our study of the Book of John we will trail off our discourse from previous days because of the way John links every detail and every thought. Read the rest of this entry
1Cor.12:31 “But earnestly desire (covet) the best gifts…” (emphasis added, KJV paraphrased]
There are nine gifts of the Holy Spirit and twelve fruit of the Holy Spirit. We are focusing first on the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit enumerated in 1 Corinthians 12. I encourage you to sit with, read, and study 1 Corinthians 12 again and again. Read the rest of this entry
Jude 1:24 “Now all glory to God, who is able to keep you from falling away and will bring you with great joy into his glorious presence without a single fault.” (emphasis added).
This was the scripture God gave me after I had given my life to Jesus. I can never forget. Though I had surrendered my life to Christ, I did not know how living for Him would be possible because I knew the type of life I was living. Read the rest of this entry
Dan.2:27 “Daniel replied, “There are no wise men, enchanters, magicians, or fortune-tellers who can reveal the king’s secret. 28 But there is a God in heaven who reveals secrets, and he has shown King Nebuchadnezzar what will happen in the future…”
We will be delving deeper in our discourse on the supernatural and the capacity of the Christian to tap into the supernatural, and make it work. Sometimes we find ourselves in places where the repercussion is corporate. Read the rest of this entry
Jn.12:24 “I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat is planted in the soil and dies, it remains alone. But its death will produce many new kernels–a plentiful harvest of new lives.” [with emphasis].
It is so important that we understand that the way of the Father is the way of love that leads to life through sacrifice. God is saying the seed needs to die, not to be exterminated but to produce an abundant harvest. Read the rest of this entry
Ps.103:7 “He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel” [KJV]
To labour [work] with God, you must know what to do. In working with God you must understand that there are the Acts of God, which are the miracles that we see. And there are the Ways of God, which is how the miracles come to be. “He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel”. God showed Moses His ways, the workings of the miracles. But He showed the miracles, the end results, to the children of Israel.
Rom.14:10, 13 [PH] “We will all be judged one day, not by each other’s standards, or even our own, but by the judgment of God… It is to God alone that we shall have to answer for our actions.”
Sometimes, God talks to us about other people so that He can confirm what He has said to them. This is closely linked to moral authority. You must have the moral authority to engage people at that level otherwise keep quiet. Even with yourself, with certain things and in certain situations, you need to ask yourself “does this concern my responsibility”? Let me give you an illustration. Billy Graham, a great man of God, years ago was so popular in the polity of the United States that they offered him a cabinet seat. But Billy Read the rest of this entry
“Then he said to me, “Speak a prophetic message to the winds, son of man. Speak a prophetic message and say, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Come, O breath, from the four winds! Breathe into these dead bodies so they may live again.’” Eze.37:9
You will move from death to life in Jesus Name. There are two distinct prophecies that God told Ezekiel to do; the first one is to the bones- prophecy to the bones son of man. We have been doing that and we will continue to prophesy to the physical things that they will leave. The second one is prophesy to the winds and cause the winds to come and breathe. “That is why the Holy Spirit says, “Today when you hear His voice don’t harden your hearts…” Heb.3:7-8
From death to life goes beyond moving from slavery to freedom. From death to life also means moving from spiritual death to spiritual life. For some people, the best way to describe their spiritual state is that they are spiritually dead. There are two pointers to spiritual death. If you have any of these two, you are spiritually dead. “Always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body… So then death is working in us, but life in you” 2Cor.4:10, 12 [NKJV, emphasis added].
Every parent understands this principle of life. Every good parent knows that they need to sacrifice so that their children can have a great future. Good parents choose to pay the children’s school fees over buying a new bag. Every parent knows that [as it were] death is working in us so that life can come out through our children. In fact, when a mother gives birth in the western part of Nigeria, the Yoruba people say “eku ewu omo” meaning you have just come Read the rest of this entry
