Speak Truth!

Prov.27:6 “Wounds from a friend are better than many kisses from an enemy.”

God wants to speak through you. God wants you to be His mouthpiece that would tell people the truth and help to save a life, save a destiny, save a family, save a generation. The problem with us in the twenty first century is that we excuse ourselves by saying, “it is really not my business” or “let everybody mind their own business”. I am here to tell you that it is your business. It is your business if your sister is going downhill. It is your business if your brother is going downhill. It is your business!

God wants you to be His mouthpiece to the people in your sphere of influence. I am not saying you should go around manipulating people with, “Thus says the Lord…” What I am saying is speak from your heart, speak the truth and watch God speak through you. Then guess what? Even the people will recognize that it is God speaking through you. It’s your business. When it is all said and done, people prefer frankness to flattery. When it is all said and done, people prefer someone that will tell them the truth, to someone that will tell them what they want to hear.

Some of my pastor friends wonder how come there are still people in the pews at God’s Favourite House. They say, “You speak the truth, how come people are coming to God’s Favorite House? How come the church is full even though you speak the truth?” What he or she is saying in essence is, “I am afraid to speak the truth to my congregation because I do not want them to stop coming to church”. I say to them, the people in God’s Favorite House like to hear the truth even though it may be uncomfortable. I have had people avoid me just because I spoke the truth. But guess what? They kept coming back because they are wise people. They recognize that this man is just trying to help them.

It is just like a parent that opts out of telling his or her child the truth because he or she wants the child to be their friend. Something is wrong with that. You have to tell your child the truth even if that child does not like you right now; he or she will thank you later.

Prayer: Holy Spirit, please fill me with truth speaking courage, in Jesus Name.
