Are You?

1 Cor.15:9 “For I am the least of all the apostles. In fact, I’m not even worthy to be called an apostle after the way I persecuted God’s church.”

If anyone understood the privilege and favor that comes with grace, it was Paul. Paul never lost sight of the fact that he was a man, unworthy outside of Christ. Even though Paul embraced his new identity in Christ, he did not lose sight of where he was coming from. So Paul was able to stay grateful to God and that is where God wants us to be.

God has saved us through the Blood of Jesus and we stand blameless before Him. But God is not done yet; He wants to make us like Christ so that you and I can stand with the righteousness of Christ. God wants us to behave like and have the authority that Christ has. God wants us to have the image, the character, and the person that Christ has. So God takes us through a process – life happens. Sometimes the process is hard, the pain is excruciating and we tend to think that God has abandoned us. But the reality is that our Father is taking us through a process to manifest our worthiness. So do not despair because God’s goal is to make you like Christ.

Rev. Kole Olowofoyeku says, “God’s promotion is not by favoritism, it is by attainment.” Understanding the dynamics of attainment and being worthy, takes your Christian walk to another level altogether. You can liken it to stepping out of kindergarten into university. Promotion in God’s Kingdom is largely by attainment and not by favoritism. God is not a respecter of persons. So the question is, are you worthy [qualified, capable, fit, competent]? Are you worthy or competent for that thing or that next level you are trusting God for?

The truth is that heaven only entrusts great things to people who are worthy. Check! You will discover that heaven only entrusts great things to people who are worthy. God is not prodigal with His resources. Unfortunately, the Church is churning out people that are largely unworthy. Sadly and increasingly you encounter people with big titles and no fruit –they are unworthy. But you are going to be worthy in the mighty Name of Jesus [say Amen].

Prayer [song]: My body is Your sanctuary (2x). Purify me as gold so I may be bold to say my body is Your sanctuary. Amen!
