The Outline

Rom.8:26And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.”

Jesus Himself has provided us with a pattern of prayer; use it and trust that the Holy Spirit will take you deeper. Jesus says start with worship, then align with God’s Kingdom and pray that His will would be done here on earth. Jesus says, “I know you have needs, so ask God alone to supply those needs because He is your source.” When you acknowledge God as your source, asking for your daily bread becomes easier.

Matt.6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. The next thing you do is ask for forgiveness and receive forgiveness. To the measure with which you forgive, that is the same measure you will be forgiven. For some of us, interestingly the person we need to forgive is our spouse. You cannot be living in the same house with the person and carrying offence around. And for those who are waiting for Jesus to resolve their differences, He is here to resolve them now. So let it be done. God wants us to forgive, as we want Him to forgive us. How much of God’s forgiveness do you want? He says to that same measure you must also forgive.

Matt.6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil”. Jesus says the next thing we should pray for is protection. In other words, when God is with you and God is blessing you, the enemy will try to make you offend God. The enemy will  bring temptation your way; God says pray that you will  overcome temptation. Or the enemy will try to attack you; God says pray that you will have victory over every attack. Pray!

Ps.35:1Plead my cause, O Lord, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me. 2 Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for my help. 3…say unto my soul, I am thy salvation”. Pray for protection.

Jesus says after you have prayed for protection, then you round up your prayers with worship. Matt.6:13…For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen”. You start with worship and you end with thanksgiving and worship. Give glory to God.

Prayer [song]: Holy, are You Lord. All creation calls You God. Worthy is Your Name, we worship Your majesty. Awesome God, how great Thou art… Amen!
