Rom. 8:28 “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him . . . according to His purpose” [with emphasis].

Like it or not, failure is beneficial. The second benefit of failure is that it develops our skills. Think about how children learn to walk. When they fall, they may not try it again that same day but the following day they are up again learning to walk. Thomas Edison says, “Just because something doesn’t do what you planned it to do doesn’t mean it’s useless.” Your goal is to make a candle that can stand without support but all your attempts have not fallen through. Package it in a cup and sell that one while you keep attempting.

Keep failing, keep learning, keep growing, and keep developing. You cannot learn to ride a bicycle if you are afraid of falling. You must make up your mind. You may wobble initially but make up your mind that each time you fall you will get up and try again. If you cannot brave it, you cannot get it – it is as simple as that. Thomas Edison says, “Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time”. Failure is actually the stepping-stone to success IF you keep trying new ways.

The third benefit of failure is that it helps us discover our true talent. This is different from developing skills. Failure helps us discover who we really are, what we have on the inside. The man Nathaniel Hawthorne is one of the best fictional writers in history. In his early career, he worked as a custom clerk and was rather unhappy. He kept telling his wife about his desire for more time to write. He always wanted to write. Then one day he went to work and they fired him; he went home dejected and told his wife. The wise woman pampered him, took him to sit down at their dining table, and gave him a journal and a pen and on that table he wrote the Scarlet Letter. It is one of the best-written books in history. Now he is a household name because he was fired. If he was not fired, he would never have discovered his true talent nor would he have had enough time to write.

Some people need to be fired so they can come in contact with who they are and with what God has put on their inside.  You have no clue what you are carrying.

Thought: Wine flows from the press.

Prayer: Father, in the Name of Jesus, I shall see the travail of my soul and I will be extremely glad. Amen!
