Roots Then Fruits

Jn.14:12 “I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father.”

There are two dimensions when it comes to the miraculous. Two dimensions we must be aware of and they are: the miraculous roots and the miraculous fruits. The two are indispensable. However, the miraculous roots must happen for there to be miraculous fruits. The miraculous fruits happen when you are doing the right things, for example – praying and giving. On the surface it will appear as though nothing is happening. But you are performing a miracle; it is called the miraculous roots.

You are praying but it is as if the challenges are staring you in the face. Stay focused and keep praying. You are performing a miracle because heaven is listening to you. A lot of people get discouraged when they are in the phase of the miraculous roots. Do not get discouraged because your fruit is coming; in fact it is here, in Jesus Name.

The man who seems to be successful owes much of his success and his greatness to the work of people who have labored before him. When we see successful people, we are quick to attribute their success to something they are doing. Many of such people owe their success to the labour of people that have gone ahead of them. A lot of people labored over Nigeria with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Such people did not see the fruits in their lifetime but we are seeing the fruits today. We are grateful to God because in spite of the strange things happening, people are still getting saved in Nigeria, in their hundreds of thousands. We really should acknowledge those who labored over this nation more often.

A lot of the things happening in my life are happening not because I am smart or because I have prayed more than anyone else. I am a third generation Christian. My grandmother was a Christian and she was a praying Christian. My mother is a praying Christian. So there are certain things that come easy for me by the grace of God, because of the labor of my grandmother and my mother. I am not apologetic about it because that would amount to casting aspersions on their sacrifices.

Prayer: Father, I am grateful for the people You appointed to labor over me. Empower me to also labor over others and let Your Name be glorified, in Jesus Name. Amen!
