Love Thing

Rom. 5: 1 “Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us” [with emphasis].

We have already been made right and there is nothing more you can do to be made right. This applies to people who are in Christ. If you are not in Christ then the only thing you can do is to give your life to Jesus Christ and be made right in God’s sight. And we have peace already not because of what Jesus will do but because of what He has done.

The beauty of Jesus’ sacrifice is that it is complete! Col.1:20 “and through him God reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ’s blood on the cross” [with emphasis]. Jesus reconciled everything to God not just human beings. Why should you be running from God when Jesus has already made peace on your behalf? Why would you not want to draw close to God? I pray that if you have not secured peace with God, today, you will secure peace with God, in Jesus Name.

#2. Peace With Self. When we accept the gift of Christmas, we have peace with self. Peace with God births peace with self. Matt.23:37 “Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments” [with emphasis]. Hidden there is the mystery of peace with self. If you do not have peace with self, you cannot have peace with your neighbor. If you do not love yourself in God, you cannot love others. And it is because you cannot give what you do not have.

When you come to God you have peace with God. You cannot love the God you cannot see if you do not love the man you can see. But how can you love the man that you can see when you do not love yourself that you live with? You cannot even begin to love God if you do not love the people around you. And you cannot even begin to love the people around you if you do not love yourself. If you do not like what you see in the mirror when you look at yourself, then you cannot even bring health to whatever relationship you are in.

Prayer: Holy Spirit, help me love me, love people, and love God, in Jesus Name. Amen!
