Give Up!

Isa.40:30 “Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: 31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

You just have to wait on the Lord. The word “wait” in today’s Scripture reference is a complex word and it means to hope, to trust, to be entangled with, a sense of dependence on God. Waiting on God can include fasting but it is beyond fasting. You cannot fast if you do not trust God. You cannot even sustain a fast in your own strength. Those who seek the Lord must believe and trust that He is and is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. If you trust Him, you will wait on Him.

Matt.17:21 (NKJV) “However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.” A lot of the things we face in life can be put into the category that Jesus describes in this scripture – “this kind”. Some things or situations are just tough nuts to crack. Jesus teaches us that this kind does not go except by fasting and prayer. The truth is that some things will just not go off until you engage spiritually and you Step Up.

#4. Give Up! For you to Step Up spiritually, you have to look up, listen up, climb up and give up. You have to give up some things. Some of us are carrying unnecessary weight, baggage, and things that we have no business carrying. Some things have to go because the lighter you are, the easier you climb. You have to give up your own ideas, your own ways and embrace God’s ways. You have to give up your own formula and embrace God’s formula. Give up! Give up your own and embrace God’s own.

I believe you have a unique destiny. But you cannot live a common life and expect an uncommon destiny. You cannot do what the masses are doing and expect to stand out from the crowd. The people that work like the masses end up like the masses. You cannot do what is common and expect to have the level of distinction that God has for you. Your uncommon destiny requires an uncommon lifestyle. The things ordinary people cannot give up, great people give up without thinking. Have you met people that claim not to be the type that read? Such people want to die in mediocrity.

Prayer: Father, I will wait on You in prayer, fasting, worship, and sacrifice, in Jesus Name. Amen!
