Higher Still

1 Tim. 6:10 “For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows.” [with emphasis]

It is crowded at the bottom; there is a lot of confusion and limited visibility. At the bottom is where contention and strife thrive. There are certain advantages you cannot take at the bottom. And that is why God wants us to Step Up in our thinking, Step Up in our speech, Step Up in our actions and in our reactions. God wants us to Step Up in reaching people for Him. God is calling us to Step Up financially. Over the next few days, God is going to teach us how to Step Up financially.

Stepping Up financially is a challenge for a lot of people particularly because some people think that Christians should be poor. They believe that it is not possible to be a Christian and be wealthy. I have heard people say that the call to follow God is a call to poverty. And the reason they think that way is because they have misunderstood Scriptures. So they say money is the root of all evil. But if you read the scriptures for yourself, you will discover the truth. It is the love of money that is the root of all evil. Huge difference. Money is neutral. Money takes the shape and the character of the person that is in possession of it.

Money is an amplifier of character. I have heard people say that money changes people; but the truth is that money does not change people. It just shows you who the person really is. I have also heard people say that women are the problem in this world and I think it is a very wrong perspective. Take a look at God’s intention for creating women. God says, “I will make him a help suitable”. God’s design for women is someone that will help, someone that will add value and not someone that will give man problems. But when purpose is not known, abuse is inevitable and that is where the major problem lies.

In order to Step Up financially, we will be exploring seven areas where we need to Step Up. Before we delve in beginning tomorrow, it is important to mention that not stepping up in any one of these seven areas, has a negating effect on you stepping up financially all together. In other words, if you Step Up in six areas and leave one area out, you will struggle.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, because I will take these teachings to heart, I declare that I will step up in my finances in Jesus Name, Amen!
